Potential Frontera OwnerHi I’m Dave & from Hull
I’ve joined up as I’m looking at buying a colleagues 1995 2 litre Sport, and before I commit myself too much I’m wondering what sort of things I need to look for or be aware of before I part with the readies. He says it’s the most reliable vehicle he’s ever owned (he’s had it 5 years), however he has told me that he thinks a bush by the front wheel needs replacing. From the research I’ve done so far parts seem to be generally quite cheap, but I would appreciate a heads up on anything that might need doing – cam-belt change intervals etc, etc. I’m looking for a vehicle that will be reliable and last me a year or two. I certainly don’t want a ‘wallet-emptying-experience’ or to find Fronteras like this can be a money-pit. BTW It’s done about 80,000 miles and he’s asking just short of a grand.

Thanks for the welcomes and the guides.
Looks like it could be due a cam-belt change – anyone any ideas what sort of price I’m looking at for a replacement and how many hours labour might be involved? I want to factor this into the haggling (or is that being a bit greedy?) Oh – I’ve asked the same q in the 2.0l petrol A Series forum – Hope this doesn’t cause any confusion.
hi and welcome
im a 2l 94 sport owner, best car i had, a couple of things to do to it. but hey, when you buy a car this age, you have to expect a couple of things, whats the mileage on it. as a matter of interest, the noise you have at front right wheel. mine has just started to do the same, sounds like a bush has gone or something, going to ask the experts on here about it. advice on here is second to none. sean
