Hi everyone just thought I would introduce myself quickly.

Just purchased a 3.2 v6 frontera limited Auto and was checking this site as my little daughter pressed the 4WD button without me knowing and I then drove it as normal on a windy country road as plenty round here.

I believe I may have caused some wind-up (think thats what its called).

All was going well and then car started to just rev.

I pulled over to stop which is when realised 4WD was on.

Automatic gears seem ok going into gear BUT i now hear i slight whizzing/whining sound when in normal drive and when i press the 4WD button the same noise again but more louder.

Can anyone possibly suggest what this could be?

Other than that the car still drives ok.

Help would be appreciated.

Hi welcome to the forum, nice to see another 3.2 owner!

Hope nothing too bad as happened to your drive train.
How fast and how long were you driving for, the faster and longer the more likely damage will occur
You may have got away with it, as for the noises how loud are they?

Also remember that as the car is new to you, you will be inherently sensitive to new strange noises.
Could it be that the noises have been there all along before you bought it?
