Andy,

Don't worry about Deposit, just give me the cash on the day!
that'll be easier.
Same to you Luke!

I won my CB on E-Bay for £30.
Mic, CB Unit and Ariel!
All I had to do was "Scavange" a Cigar Lighter Adapter, then Twist the wires together, Make sure the Ariel was in the middle of the roof and SWR check it!

I seem to recall that there was talk of deregulating CB radio licensing, but I've been unable to find the information. Note the ofcom information was dated 2002.

I had a look on 4x4cb.com, and there is no mention of licensing (that I could find).

I did'nt mean to cause any panic.

http://www.laughingpoliceman.com/...

And on a slightly funnier note
http://www1.mrc.royalmail.co.uk/...

This is from the Licensing Centre and it's showing up-to-date Callsigns issued so someone's still buying them but in all fairness,
I wouldn't like to see them chase me through Great Alne Ford in a Mondeo!lol

Well, Rain or not, you'll get a chance to take your Fronty through Great Alne Ford (See relevant thread) and that's a nice long wetroad!

Hmm, Lawrence, did they have a Hose there for spraying the muck out of the Rad???

"Streetly 1" is my callsign on the Motorsports Association (MSA) safety/medical radio frequency. The license is actually issued to and held by the MSA and they issue me with a "Authorisation to use" certificate.

I've not used CB for some time (I use PMR), and was waiting to see what happened regarding deregulation. That said, I do use the PA facility on events to inform spectators of pertinent information I am privy to off the MSA set (when the competitors have started, information on delays, top 10, etc)

I seem to recall that there was a stand-pipe tap on site, maybe with a short lenght of hose, but it was a couple of years ago.

Good point though - the mud (if there is any) is very clay/claggy and you don't want it to be clogging up your rad if you have a long journey home.

Here's a tip - get some tough plastic sheet and make a bib. It probably won't last all day, but it did help - clicky piccy

Lawrence ,

I'm sorry to say this and I'm sure others will have noticed looking at that pic BUT

You Look Terrified

Good Idea though and one I'll be implementing!!
Still can't get hold of a Truck Tie-Down Strap but I'm still pestering my Drivers! I don't want to be the only Lemon there with a Day-Glo Yellow Tow-Rope

You probably would look the same, when sat next to my ex (green peace activist, vegan vegetarian, Renault Clio driver) diving my truck for the first time
