What have I done to the thing today? Finally (6 months late) got round to getting the 3.1 c/w hole in sump out of the truck ready for a wee bit of cleaning up of the engine bay and some remedial welding in there while the noisy rattly thing is out of the way and then another lump will be going in. Aim is get it in, the truck MOT'd and back on the road by the 10th of Feb. Jobs to do... Gearbox off Old engine out Service on the newer engine (new oil pump, cam belt, water pump) Split gearbox/transfer box, check bearings and re-assemble. Clean up engine bay, re-route hoses/pipes and repairs as needed. Newer, serviced engine in, connect bits up. Gear box in, replace prop shafts. Replace N/S front wing. Replace brake shoes. MOT.... Today I tried to free up the bumper cable to close the bonnet again. Think it may need a new cable it's very stiff.
Earlier this week I had trouble with the tailgate glass not closing. Added a washer to each bolt on the catch on the glass to push it out a bit more so it catches now in the one in the door.Also put on a new rear rubber bump stop.

Just dropped off Truck at the Garage ready for it's MOT at 09:00 tomorrow. To be honest it's been a bit of a mare with it over the last week, the knackered engine had to come out and the newer working one in, a simple enough job that for some daft reason I've been putting off for the last 6 months or so. Anyway, it's done now and seems to be running sweet. Shame the same cant be said for the ******* heater! Guess that'll be the next job once the MOT is out of the way.

Wahay.... Truck lives to drive another day!!!! Just took it for a spin round town after picking it up from the Garage post MOT c/w new 12 month ticket
 Oddly enough it drives completely different to the XC70 that's been the current daily driver for the last 6 months or so, the trucks got an extra pedal for starters and this weird stick thing that you have to stir around for gears  This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... What served them right was taking all day to get the steering idler arm separated from the idler.... I did tell them they might have 'issues' doing it but no, they said it would be easy.....
If the truth were to be known I really couldn't be arrsed to get under it again this week and I wanted it running by the weekend.
