Hello mate. I orginal wanted a 3.2 petrol but I ended up with a 2.2dti and to be honest I love it and not a slow as I thought. It's a 52 reg olympus:)

The 3.2 is quick but thirsty, enjoyed my dti until the pump died.

I have read loads of info on pumps dieing. People say it's due to running out of fuel or running it low. This true?

Is this a problem on all diesel dti ? Are pumps cheaper to buy these days?

Wotcha!

The fuel helps lube the pump, so no fuel .. no lube .. that causes wear on the internals. Another potential cause is the heat of the engine frying the electronic componentry in the pump. I have often considered a Dti and then seeing if a heat shield could be made to go between the engine and pump to help protect it.

Thanks mate. Well fingers crossed. It has 94k on now and seems fine but you never know.

If it goes I will try and source a recon one if possible.
