banter general discussions etc

Acquired some bits off my export man, which might be destined for my new build, a nice pair of lockered up patrol gq axles ....Have a 3.2 lump, lpg kit, gearbox and loom etc, and some 38's on 12j's up my mates farm...just debating whether to build another shorty A or B, (have both bodyshells and chassis), or whether to start the chassis and then use a tf/brava double cab tray back...Either which way it would have to be 4 linked front and rear and caged (again!!!!)...
or...sell it all, and weld up the diffs on another 2.0i leafer and beat the hell out of it like normal! LOL

Well obviously build a monster! Road legal or not? I guess that'll make a big difference. If off road only then sod a body and go for a cage. If road legal then it has to be a MWB pickup with some form of hiab on the back for self righting and lifting obviously

I would stick with the cab section of a Brava etc. That decision is based purely on the British weather .. and the woods gets chuffing cold at times.

Take it your talking a matching Front and Rear axles Greg. Was the Patrol GQ an IFS or Live axle. If live, that will make an interesting read fitting on a Fronty. Indy4x4 done a write up on an IFS to Live transplant on a Trooper and quite a bit of fettling needed to be done. They may still sale these LIVE fronts with complete fitting kit including a locker and they are mega bucks.

These axles are from a coil strung GQ, so will need links making up...I have some of the nissan suspension components also...will wait till I get all the bits up here and then scratch my head lots, for a couple of seconds, before I start cutting and welding...LOL

Don't forget to take lots of pics! Nothing worse than following someone making a monster and not knowing how it was done!
