I spent the afternoon ripping the seat bases out of mine so I can get to the join between the walls and floor of mine. They had parted company Anyway lots of ply and 4x2 later she is all braced and secure. ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!When (if) the better weather arrives I'm going to strip and scrap my van as most of the wood has parted company with its structural integrity lol
On another note as of midnight the cav is getting retired again so the lwb will be my daily drive until I pick up my jeep on the 10th Then the mad rush to get the jeep ready for the annual (if noone minds a grand cherokee turning up for the frontera annual meet )![]() My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments here My old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!" This vehicle runs on 100% recycled dinosaurs
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well a good day at the workshop (apart from splitting my thumb with hammer!!)
Managed to remove the knackered rear body mounts (cutting, burning, hitting and swearing) and fitted the two new ones. Managed to get NOS from Germany but LH side only but ordered two and its clear that despite different part numbers they are identical Taped up the last induction hose with self amalgamating tape. reclipped CV gaitor which had slipped off. Refitted original front bumper at its new height and cut the corners. Replaced the pinion seal on rear axle, no oil to refill so check will have to be later. So to do; fill rear axle with oil, engine oil and filter change, sort out CB aerial, redo exhaust so lines up better to lift, clean inside and out. Cant decide whether to risk MOT before annual or wait until its due at end of May??
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I would leave it till it is due Steve....If it fails then in effect the current MOT in void I think, certainly would be in the eyes of your insurer should you have an accident where they would say that you were knowingly driving an unroadworthy vehicle...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Topped up the oil on rear diff, cleaned off all the mess the leak had caused under back of truck.
Removed last of the remaining and v.stubborn side step brackets. Engine oil and filter changed. Rear axle breather pipe installed under truck, need to connect to diff pan but need to replace the fitting and short pipe. Changed the rusty scuttle panel for one i kept off the Frog. Refitted cb aerial and from internet, found out how to change cb frequency to UK range Finished off roller top install on my other truck as the sun was out. Not back to work until Wednesday so hopefully time to complete the breather and give the truck a good clean. Less than 2k miles driven last 12mths, must try harder the next 12!!!!!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Drove it 15 miles and still had the oil and coolant in where it's meant to be after!
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
