Re giving O-no a right good clean on the Sunday....

Got to work Monday, to find I had to isolate an HV Cable between DSS S and DSS R, one of the Sub Stations (DSS 'S') was the wrong side of a newly finished dig area that had been covered in nice clingy top soil.... Said top soil now has Fronty Sized wheel tracks running across it for a couple of hundred mtrs towards and from the Sub Station .... O-no on the other hand looked like a happy hippo that had spent all day rolling around in a megga mud pit

Last time I clean that one before work...

Bought a car load of 1 inch square tubing to make my roof rack of out for the 2.5. Will post pictures as and when (hopefully doing it tomorrow and Monday). The plan is to have 4 lights accross the front, 2 work lights at the back, twin amber beacon and spare wheel mount on it. Oh and to have 2 slots for the waffle boards to hang under the load deck. Because of all the lights I'm thinking of running some heavy gauge cable upto the roof and having a relay box hidden under the spare wheel rather then running 4 separate feeds upto the roof

Not a damn thing even tho I have loads to do on my truck. But I did work on a discovery td5 ( please forgive me father for I have sinned ) had to replace the old power steering pipes for new ones. Now that was a bloody mission removing all the silly plastic engine covers then front grill so I could remove the radiators because the power steering pipes are fitted underneath them. And tomorrow I will be replacing the brakes on my daughter car so I still can't work on my truck

Got it running again after an incident with the new auxiliary fuel pump packing up!

Welding

I knew it needed a repair to both sills, started on the drivers side today and a small patch has turned into a full inner and outer repair. Inner sill is done, on with the drivers side tomorrow

Filled up the tank on the Pajero, 51,79Lt premium fuel. $117.00. Premium petrol is $2,26 a litre at my local BP.

Lucky bugger! £1.11 for your petrol. Were paying £1.27 for petrol !

Just to rub it in l will be enjoying summer again this year . I don't think that I will be missing the cold winters over there any more.

Used three cans of spray gunk cleaning the engine, then stripped off all the chopped hoses. Moved all the required bits from the old engine over and put it into the truck.

Gear box next.

Got my LWB rear light conversion done

After Liam decided he was too tired to goto work today he came over and helped me with the rack. Started with alot of tape measuring and throwing ideals about. But after a couple of hours we had a good solid plan in our heads so we made a start on cutting up some metal and quickly made this:


And by dinner time we had got this far (about 3/4s done) before packing up for the night:


I'll have another crack at it tomorrow and hopefully get it to a point where it can be painted and mounted on the roof.

Aye Bobby. I had the forthcoming weather in mind too, seems that every time I do something to that ******* truck it's either raining like it's going out of fashion (clutch a couple of years ago). Snowing (rear axle). Storms (Gearbox / flywheel / clutch / lsd trooper axle) earlier this year.

Plus I'm currently using the 'spare' for work and need to to do something with the fuel tank holder (usual thing, more rust than steel) so Truck needs to be sorted asp.

Just need to connect stuff up now (fuel lines, electrics etc) and stick the gearbox back in too. Next weekend hopefully unless I get's voluntold to go shopping or summit more important than fixing me truck

Finished off drivers sill today and then cut off what was left of the drivers side rear bump stop mount and cleaned up the chassis. Made a new mount out of some angle ready to weld back on.

After being recovered by the AA yesterday, I removed the exhaust from the cat back to help prove the cats collapsed. Certainly looks like the LHS ones a gonner, AA guy seems to be spot on.

Fitted a battery and dug it out. Stripped the back seats out, rear roll bar and cleaned the inside to start turning it into a pick up. Still unsure what i'm going to do for the bulkhead yet tho

Welded on the new drivers side bump stop after drilling holes in it and welding on some captive nuts

Cut off the passengers side bump stop, made a new one with captive nuts and welded that on too

Stripped off the lift springs, clamps and dislocation cones ready for the fitting of the +4" springs off my LWB

Finally changed the starter motor - not an easy task!!

Nearside front wheel bearing replaced

Removed the rusted side step brackets

fitted egr blanking plates and started to free off the pipe from exhaust to egrs - slowly, slowly so I don't snap the bolts

near side front brake pipe replaced - cant find a supplier for new copper washers though...

loads more to do on list and an even bigger list for the house
