I'm waiting for BumpTJ's email address (as a commitment to join us)

If Bumpy can't make it, then there is a space available, otherwise to follow the GLASS Code Of Conduct I can't be part of a group of more than 4.

Eitherway, I'll send out the booklets before the end of the week.

Hey hang on a mo! I have been on a weeks holiday sorry I never got anyone's permission but thats the way it goes. I've got plenty of commitment thank you very much lawrence, and as for changing the day.. Yes you did and I replied asking dates etc (woulda have thought that showed how keen I was to go!) If you can't get hold of someone for a week than common sense should prevail instead of posting inflammotory notes that are just going to get my back right up. But if you have decided to give the 3rd place away fair enough. I will know not to bother in the future. Anyway rant over and much of the anger spent on this post  , I will waste the rest getting bleep at a barby tonight. :D

Oops, looks like my wording has been missinterpreted.

No offence was intended and a personal appology and explanation sent via email.

The good news is that we have a full house of four Fronteras taking part in a Green Lane Day, around the N.Wales countryside next Sunday.

I doubt we'll be heading in your direction Ste (unless you'll be buying the beers ?).

We'll get the binoculars out when we're at the summit of the Wayfarer - give us a wave at around 11:00

Well, I popped over to Wales yesterday to reccy a lane that I hoped would add a little mileage and a little more interest to the proposed route... it was not to be.

Things were looking good to start with, even finding a good place to stop for a coffee break. I walked a short section and as it looked ok I gave it a go:

But, ahead of me I came accross this:

Image

To be honest, it did not appeal to me, due mainly to the rocky side slope and the way the slope continues on down to the valley - it looks much worse than that last picture gives the impression - so I turned round and drove home.

That said, I'm sure you'll all have a great day out.

If you can remember the recce and the GLD2 (not the snowy one), the first lane after the pub - up that steep hill and hang a hard left into the field. The lane we normally use climbs with fields either side and a wire fence on the right (not the lane we got stuck in the snow on). Almost at the end, we turned left at the green lane crossroads, down the rocky steps and the side slope, accross the main road onto the narrow lane with the rock we abated.

As the first lane I described above now turns into a RB (Restricted byeway & illegal to drive), I tried to approach the green lane crossroads from the south - I got about 3/4 of the way (about half a mile to the crossroads).

Map references: started: SJ177299, got to about SJ173312 (Multimap)

By all means try it, but at your own risk

I'm sure you'll all enjoy the day out (Just ask Driftwood what he thought of his first days laning)

Not a problem as it means we'll have to nominate someone else to keep getting out to close the gates

There will be plenty of stops along the way for a chat and a craic.

Lawrence,
I'm afraid I'll have to pull out of the Wales trip, as Bramble (the pup) broke his leg at the weekend in Weymouth, and so he needs a lot of attention (and money!) for a few weeks.

I hope someone else can take my place easily and that you all have a good time.

Cheers,
Andy

I am sorry to hear that and thanks for letting me know.

Get well soon "Bramble"

Looks like we have one space available - first come first served (as they say) - anyone want to join us?
