Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Bobby, did that 8 track to PC cable work? It wont take long to get the tapes on to Disks
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I regreased the nearside bearing and reassembled it again, it's made next to no difference but the offside is the same so I'll just kick up a huge fuss if they try and fail it again. I also put my bfg muds on the front as they are much smoother on the road so shouldn't be kaining the bearings as much
Then I decided to 'fix' the shifters so I don't have to hold it in 2nd and 4th gear. All is well, I've had to bin the rubber boot because that just isn't going to fit anymore, but it reminds me of when I drove gregs old 2.8 lwb as to get 1st you have to almost punch the ashtray lol but it works and feels really good to drive ![]() My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments here My old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!" Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!You could allways get the gearstick cut and a small piece welded back in and change the angle slightly. I did it on one of my old cars!

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Cheers for the offer but it's all sorted now. It's because it has a body lift on it the shifters where hitting the gearbox tunnel. So I cut and welded them but as a consequence 1st gear is in the ashtray lol

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Got ya, the quadrant wouldnt have solved that problem. I guess the only way is to extend and then bend the levers.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Take the stick out .. notch it with a grinder .. bend it backwards a bit (trial fit to make sure its enough) then when your happy fill the notch with weld.
Don't do what Andytats did with mine where he took too much out and it snapped when he bent it to fit ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!You only need the bend the rear edge of the tunnel downward's then you can fit the rubber gaitor back on.
Or you can cut the rear edge back by 2cm then add 2cm to the front edge then refit the gaitor. If you don't have the rubber gaitor fitted then you will get wet feet when you did the carwash in Wales i hate having Dyslexia

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!And so after a small argument with the bloke it now has a pass. They failed it telling me it sounded rough and you could feel some vibration through the top wishbone, but on the sheet he put down it had excessive play. So I argued that it doesn't have any play in it at all and the now I've regreased it it's no worse than the other side that was ok on Friday. Then he had the cheek to try and charge me for the retest. Anyways I walked out of there at no extra cost to me with a pass. This ginger gets nasty when angry lol
