Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Filler is the reason I've had to do so much welding on my sills. The body flexed while off road and caused a small gap between it and the body making a water trap so thus rusting the sh1t out of the sill even tho it had already been patched up. So now I'm sporting the open beed look lol. But with the paint job I have in mind for summer you won't really notice anyways

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!replaced rear leaf springs with new ones from millners what a difference in height !!
although had to mod them to fit as they dont fit straight out of the box
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Looked at it, got the bits and thought about extending the rear axle, gear box and front axle breather pipes up into the engine bay for the laning thing that's coming up.
Note: Thought about... This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Did the welding on the passenger side sill and somehow managed to fix the wiring for the rear tail light as one of the wires had broken in the rain. The mot's tomorrow so here's hoping!

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well the mot took a hour and a half so I knew it wasn't good news. 9 fails and 4 advisorys so I guess it won't be on the road in time for the laning day on the 2nd. Failed on rot on pretty much every body mount going including the 2 at the back that are missing (bolts sheared off). He found the squeaky bj tho, it's a lower n/s bj and a track rod end. Not very happy but what can you do eh

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That's sucks matey, is the welding worth doing ?
Sounds harsh but is it something that you can do and get it back to good stuff or something that will just keep progressing. Good luck to you.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That's not good dan. Would it not be easier to buy a new truck or a new chassis sure Greg would have one

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!I am seriously considering breaking it and getting a different one. The lesson here is not to buy a car from Scotland (no offence). The sills will need more welding come next mot, the chassis is covered in surface rust made worse by it having old waxoil on it making lots of water traps. I'll have a good think about it tonight and see what my options are. At the end of the day it's just a toy but I don't want a petrol and there aren't many diesel swb's. I might try and buy mannys 2.8 lol if only I had 2k

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That's a shame Dan. It does sound like time needs to be called if the rot is that bad. You might be surprised with what you can earn for breaking it though, especially if the engine is good.
Makes me wonder what Lara would fail on if I stuck her in for an MOT. Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!That's not good Dan, bit surprised that after spending 2 sundays under it you didn't twig how bad it was, still this could be an omen perhaps it's time to move up into a swb Trooper
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Get the mig out Dan, it only needs a few patches....
