Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Got the irwin version of them they good
Today i dropped the oil and switched the filter + new air filter - lot more throttle response now. Sometime between march and now the air filter got barkit ! Also fitted new oil pressure sensor. Hasnt solved the eml at start up ( goes away when you rev it a little ) Not done the fuel filter yet - still got the memorys of the last fight with it ! At the moment im going round the truck snapping the body mount bolts with a 3 ft breaker bar to get the body lift fitted
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Removed the Bull Bar from Truck ages ago with the intention of getting the plastic stuff off and the rust sorted before it becomes a real issue. Finally got all the plastic off it yesterday and ready for painting.
Came into the house for a quick brew before hitting it with the hammerite only to get called out by one of the on call engineers. Seems someone had put a temp LTHW boiler in on a site to run the district heating main while the MTHW boilers were being changed (DH Main is LTHW) but they had left the pressure unit set to 4bar and has so far split 8 rads over 2 days... With the last two to go the engineer couldnt isolate them so they had a couple of accomodation blocks reseambling swimming pools. Problem was sorted at 01:30 and home for 03:00 Now just finished painting the Bull Bars and hopefully will get them on the truck tonight when dry. Im fed up driving without the spots and with the weather coming up having the metalwork back up front may be handy! This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted a replacement battery, remote fob casing, headlamp & door mirror. They where the easy bits. Sadly the rest of it's not quite so simple

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Resorted to the grinder for 4 our of 8 bolts on rednecks lift.
Need to reposition the bumpers now.... Tempting to rip the rear one off and fit a box section replacement. So much for a cheap car hahahhaha - spent more time on this crapbox than on my landy. Looking the mutts nuts tonight though. Taking my mate to work the morn - should be funny to see his face when i turn up in this. Its about 8 inches taller than last time i picked him up.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!A lovely drive back from Preston yesterday in the Trooper. My god the power difference between the 2.8 and the 2.3 is HUGE!!!!!
I could actually accelerate up hills .. in fact I just stuck to 70 on the M'way and she stayed there, as opposed to having to drop down through the gears and crawling at 35 mph going up the M62 summit for example. Being able to overtake asthmatic sloths is a major advantage as well. Oh and the heat ... the beautiful heat. I dunno what it is but the Frontera just doesn't seem to be able to get any kind of inside hot air, and the Trooper (even with a 2.
