Well yesterday - got the Trooper 'open' diff 3rd member pulled at a breakers. What a difference a fork lift makes. After doing battle with the M25 got there about 3.30p.m. with an ultimatum that they shut at 5p.m. After the buggering about with the guys lifting motors about and getting a BMW off the top of the Trooper it was getting on for 4p.m. before I could get going. Jacked it up, wheels off, loosening off the handbrake cables and 4 bolts off each side gave me enough movement to pull the half shafts clear of the 3rd member. By this time, it's getting on for 4.45p.m. and the owners are chonking at the bit to think about shutting up shop for the day. Offer of the fork lift was promptly accepted, up the Trooper went 5' in the air, out comes their zip gun, couple of clots with a hammer and the 3rd members off. 5.05p.m. I'm driving out of their yard

Failed MOT.
lower off side front ball joint knackered, and lack of hand brake efficiency.
Popped home. Both jobs sorted in an hour and half and back to the station for a pass certificate.

I had the window open at 70 mph on the M62 yesterday (for the only 2 miles it was clear) as my 2.8 heater was too hot.
