Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEW36 truck photos follow.
Many thanks to Ian (Bobbins Job) for the ride round - that will explain why his truck features quite a bit below. Please do not steal my photos - link to them by all means but taking a copy, removing the watermark and re-hosting them is theft of copyrighted material. Tomorrow, I will let you know how to attain a higher resolution un-watermarked copy for your personal use. I found a manual setting of around a 40th of a second and a little bounce/reflected flash work best for me (three sets of flash batteries over the weekend), oh, and having a weather sealed lens & body helped enormously. Enjoy Lawrence
Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWwell jel'

Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWOh it was another good one Steve.
Mind you, given the rain we were beginning to wonder if you'd parked your truck round the corner then taken the roof down and gone home, seeing as it always gets wet when that happens. Jim...

Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWI'll echo all the above, had a great weekend even though my trailer-tent ended up holding more water inside than the Caspian sea..
So now the "trailer-tent" has been demoted to just a trailer, the useful bits removed and the rest burnt on the bonfire. I will also say that sleeping in the boot of a Fronty B, with a 6'1 son and a 70ltr LPG tank is not comfortable so will be looking for a tin tent for another day. As always, thanks go out to everyone that makes the woods the amazing place it is. Fronty B, 2002 3.2 V6

Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWWant a large un-water marked electronic copy of one of my photos ?
I enjoy taking photos and sharing the results, but I do get annoyed when the images I upload for you to view are stolen (e.g. watermark removed, resized, re-hosted and, god forgive; “instagrammed”). I must point out that this does not happen often. I do know that people like to share photos of their trucks (especially as Facebook is such an easy medium to do so), and I therefore know my work has value. I also know that I will never recover the cost of my equipment through photo sales (I won’t do weddings at £2000 a pop, studio portrait sessions at £45 a head, etc), but I have an idea… This weekend (31/08/2013) I will be photographing a Dog Agility Competition. I have had many conversations with the trainer who hosted the training sessions I shot recently and the woman who has asked me to photograph the show. It is my intent to upload and share a number of watermarked photos and then invite the dog owners to make a financial donation via PayPal in exchange for a high resolution un-watermarked electronic image for their personal use. After about a month or so, I will take the value of the donations and present the local dog agility training club with a cheque to that value, to be specifically passed on to a Dog Charity. I propose to do the same with the Weekender photos: If you would like a larger resolution un-watermarked image for your personal use, then your donation too will be passed onto a Dog Charity in a month or so’s time. My definition of personal use for an un-watermarked image as indicated above is: You May • Take the electronic copy of the image to a printers for printing • Resize/crop the image • Upload the image to your personal web space • Upload the image to your on-line storage provider (e.g. Photobucket) • Upload and share the image to a social network site You Might Also Like To: • Reference/acknowledge the original creator of the image You May Not • Sell the image in any format • Pass the image off as your own work • Use the image to gain financial or favourable reward How much to donate ? It's entirely up to you £3 ? – Cost of a pint down the pub £5 ? – Cost of a portion of fish & Chips £10 ? - A bucket of KFC Remember, I will not be keeping your money – your donations will be passed on to a Dog Charity. Pop me a PayPal donation with your email address and the image name(s) you would like and I'll email you a large *.jpg file. Rather than put my paypal email address on the forum, please PM me. Lawrence
Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWNice idea Trugga....the pics of our old dogs going to help other dogs in need...
Thanks for posting the odd sequence of pics of the BRL's decent...sliding it round and coming down backwards in 2nd was the only way I could make it work without getting stuck in the trees and without toboganning into the axle twister. and cool pics Gem....didnt actually see the two herberts having their tea in the den...will try and find a big tree I can slice to make them a proper table to go with the chairs for next time. Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWLooks like it was a goodun. Good pics guys
Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWIt was a fantastic weekend, the highlight for me, without a doubt was Leland's face when he caught his first glimpse of the amazing den that Greg and the lads built. It was a proper changing rooms moment
Followed closely by Chancey ( sorry if I spelt it wrong) taking 4 'turns' at the pinata, and beating the living cr4p out of it, and neither Ian nor Leland daring to interrupt, you can hear them in one of the videos Big thanks to everyone for accepting Harvey. All the dogs got on really well, considering most of them don't see each other from one meet to the next. Harvey is very pleased with his harem, and cant wait for next time, Bring on the next one '01 SWB 2.2L PETROL called Stanley Bean

Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWSorry it's taken so long to post.
Firstly a massive thanks to Greg and Sally for putting on a brilliant weekend. Believe it or not the fog weekends are our holidays and everyone made this the best one yet. Not even rain that paled the Great Monsoon of 2011 into insignificance and which shall now be known as the Mighty Monsoon of 2013 could spoil the atmosphere. It was great to see so many new faces there and as always the same old dodgy ones. After Friday set up and Greg having less luck than a one legged man in an ar$3 kicking contest with lost keys, wheels and almost his head when the truck fell off the jack, we settled down with a few beers. Saturdays driving was an experience to say the least with carnage a plenty. A few extra dents, broken windows and me falling sideways off the track into the trees resulting in lots of sweaty axe swinging and one less tree in the woods which then was dragged behind my truck for no other reason than a vengeful cremation. I took Leyland and Maci for their official Fog driving test and they both passed with flying colours and will be receiving licenses shortly The den the guys built for the kids was a master stroke thanks again Then followed many hours of rum fire rain but most of all laughter. Big thanks to everyone for putting up with Maci especially Lisa who had one of the most surreal conversations with her and oh yeah, Maria says thanks Lisa, Tuesday night Maci ran out of the front door and shouted FIRE to which she got a telling off lol. Great to see Lawrence down there and thanks for taking some excellent photos, you are way too over self critical. If I have missed anything or anyone I apologise but it was such a blinding weekend and one that will be hard to beat. I didn't get a single photo as my phone battery life was caned all weekend providing the music in the mobile 2.8 disco Bring on the next one ![]() SIZE DOES MATTER!! Re: Weekender in the Woods **August BH** REVIEWBit late in the day but I can't say nothing about my first time in the woods! The place is amazing and the more I spoke to Greg about all the work that's gone into it the more amazing it becomes! It's a real shame Saturday was so wet as the weekend would've been even more incredible if the woods were more navigable that day. Only went out once and managed to lose a window!
Thanks to everyone for making the place what it is so far. Big thanks to Greg and Sally for organising the weekend too! Andy and Ben both took me for a tour to get me familiarised with the tracks and Jim joined me for my first disastrous spin too (not to mention provided some exquisite man fuel for the duration!) Was really great to meet everyone else too and I got given a whole lot of good advice (probably down to Andy that I still have both my thumbs) Sadly I haven't got much visual evidence of my time in the woods (save the dent) as I came alone so hopefully I can find myself a wingman for the next one to take some snaps! Thanks Trugga for including us in the slideshow, it's a true honour and a very nice shot. Got some plans for the truck now I know it's capable both onroad and off so looking forward to the next time I'm able to come down. Extra thanks go to Greg for hooking me up with a replacement window, the roads were noisy enough with it on muds so glad I didn't have to drive home without! Also, despite making it all the way to Kent and back (including the bumpy muddy bits in between) without incident, I managed to lose my belt tensioner on a 30 mile motorway drive this week which again Greg was kind enough to advise me on and is now fixed and well again! Hope I'm able to join you all again for another of these and thanks again to everyone involved, was a blinder! T
