Change the rear brake shoes. Thank god i got a Manny as the first drum wouldn't shift. Gave my stepson a bell and he comes over and beats it into submission. Now just the fronts to change!

Drove it for the 1st time in about 10days...started 1st flick of the key.

You need to be able to switch your main beam on without any rooflights coming on too...
I know some rigs look like they've got enough spots to light up the moon but they're all on switches so the driver can, if he chooses, just flash the headlights without all the rest. Will fail the MOT otherwise.

You just need to put an on/off rocker or something into the wiring. Have a shufti in the Mods & Accessories section for ways to do it.

Made the legs for the rock sliders and had a dry run to make sure it all lined up, just need to break out the welder and start sticking it together.

Ordered a 6m length of 48.5mm OD Blue Band tubing, should be here tomorrow and can then start bending some tube to make the tree slidy bit

This afternoon went to Yate to pick up a drill press, its from a school and hardly used, about 12 years old, downside is its 3 phase but the best bit is it was free

today i got some more parts in the post..
it was manual locking hubs so they are now on.
as well i sorted out my harness so i now have a 5 point harness

nearly ready for the annual now... not too much more to do

Had a nice delivery this morning some new springs cheers mark.
All fitted drives well quick clean up of the copper grease off the wheel and maybe a tweak for the front torsion bars or may leave it till the annual and seek an opinion on the travel.

and this afternoon i put a new rocker cover gasket on it, and i hope that is where it is leaking oil from.

Looked into why Kaz is difficult to start. Previous owner said an aftermarket glow plug system had been fitted. Think I found the problem



Now need to find the right relay.


I wonder if anyone would like this as a spare when I replace it with a genuine Vauxhall one

Note the only rusty bit in that picture is the bracket on the relay...get it off quick before it infects the inner wing....

Yea but check out the angle grinding dust below it Greg!!!!

Think thats just general dust Bobby...remember its a 2.3, they dont create enough airflow to blow it out of the way...

today i put extended breathers on the diffs as well i found out the old owner hadnt sealed the airbox even tho he put a snorkle on it.

Yup Greg ... only rusty bit is the LR relay bracket

And yeah that is 20 years of general crud ... usual fine mist of oil on everything that is often found on the 2.3 ... though saying that it does have a bleed underneath from the oil filter area. Might be the oil cooler pipes going to the oil filter mount. I know you can get new seals for them (o'rings). Will need a clean up so I can trace the point of origin though.

Not annoyed at all .. I fully expect to be ribbed for having the slowest Frontera in the land ... old school. Noisy, dirty, slow, but a Frontera none-the-less.
