Frontera Technical Support

Hi All, Just signed up to the forum, but it wasn't easy.
Tried to sign up using my normal email address that I use on loads of other forums (Motorcycles mainly) but got a message saying I couldn't use that email as it was spam. Had to start over using a gmail account. Given that anyone can get a gmail account with no proof of identity or location, surely it is more likely that gmail accounts will be spam than any other type of email address.

Anyway I'm here now, don't have a Frontera, but I'm seriously looking. Had a Freelander for a while (sorry for swearing), but it has proved to be a little less than reliable and the spares are fairly expensive. Reading everything on line it does appear that the Frontera 2.2 diesel does pretty much everything a freelander does except breakdown.

Welcome to the Forum, even if it did take you a little perseverance. We try to be a helpful and friendly bunch so if you can't quite find the info you need, feel free to ask for help & advice.

Slightly offtopic for the area, while Admin will be the ones to ask if we have an email blacklist, you should be able to edit your account email by going to User control panel > Profile > Edit account settings.

Thanks Jim, Tried the edit thing to change my email but just get the spam warning again.
I will leave it set to the gmail account, and not worry about it.

I guess it is a data base that bans emails from users with more than one interest who might want to join several forums.
I think I'm a member of 5 forums on the other email now, so maybe that's the limit.
As someone who set up and ran a forum for a sidecars group I completely understand why these measure exist.
As we had very few members we got round it by forcing new members to actually email me privately so I could activate their forum use.
It wouldn't work with a bigger group like this one as the poor admin would have to check emails full time.

The problems resulting from running out of fuel do seem odd (as a design), but I have read the advice and understand never to run out.

Hi, another aspect that works on a fronty that doesn't really on weelander is the 4x4, the lack of low box makes it struggle abit in certain situations :wink:
