Hi all, Bought a 2.5 LWB on saturday, my first 4x4, going to be a daily drive and off road toy. A few things to sort on it but nothing that involes grinding and welding which is what I wanted! Been lurking since friday reading up on them, seems like one of the better car forums Picked these wheels up for it cheap, apparently came off a Shogun, hope they fit

Hi and welcome. You'll get good advice here. Bet you're glad you got your truck in time for the snows?

Thanks, I certainly am, MR2 turbo has been my only car for months, its bad enough in the wet never mind ice and snow Unfortunately may have killed it already (broken glow plug in cylinder 1, have made thread on it) typical I do that just when I need it most.

You mention this is your first 4x4. Not wanting to be cheeky but if you're not familiar with these trucks spend a few moments reading up on the transmissions systems and front wheel hub operations. These vehicles do not have a centre differential which, if driven in 4wd on a grippy surface, can cause major truck-killing transmission damage. Hope you get the engine fixed soon - more winter weather being suggegsted for next week.

Thanks for the welcome drinksoptional - Only place I know of for off roading is a pay site. Big Dav - I've read up on the 4x4 system so I know what not to do. Starting to look like the heads are going to have to come off, just what I need Mr Mud - I have a set of spots and fogs I can use, but fitting them will have to be put on hold for now
