My contract is due up in January and I will be due for and upgrade, I currently run a HTC Desire HD on Android and I would like to stay with Android. I am torn between the Samsung S3 or the HTC One X. I have noticed the cost on the deals for the Samsung have increased over the last few weeks which puts me off as they where better just 3 weeks ago, I thought they may drop with the iphone 5 arriving? The other thing is I may be wanting three of the same phone for me the Mrs and the lad, would this give me any better bargaining power? I am currently on Tesco mobile and for obvious reasons would like all the phones on the same network. So, who has what and who do you guys think would offer the best deal. This is only between the Samsung and HTC as I am not interested in other phones

S3 Wouldn't touch Apple with a barge pole. Software is too restricted.
Traffic lights in London are just rough guidelines

Hey Ste, I just had the same dilema, the Mrs has just got the S3 & its an amazing phone. She switched on the navigation & was showing off, i told her if it works in dismal cloudy weather i will also be having 1, it worked a treat. However, Ive had HTC for years & cannot fault them. So that was my dilema. I checked out all the tech reviews & comparisons on U tube etc. Everyone says you cannot split them, i opted for the 1X. Just decided to stick with what i know. The in car mode is superb (S3 doesnt have it) Beats audio (s3 doesnt have it). We have the 2 phones & i think the 1X just edges it ...hope that helps

I have the samsung galaxy nexus which is more or less the same as the S3 (just about 6months older) and Its brillient, my brother has the S3 and thats also brillient! the massive screen makes browsing FOG really easy and MM can be used in the car on it too....albeit slightly laggy....so Im going to put my old HTC HD2 (WinMo 6.5) in the car with MM on it as it runs silky smooth - plus its the proper MM not MM Tracker. But I think the lag is MM Tracker more than the phone. Also funny to think that im only 22 and my current phone is more powerful than my 1st PC was....good old days of 386's and windows 3.11
My 2.8 shorty - now sold, and comments hereMy old dti - now sold "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "WOW --- What a Ride!" This vehicle runs on 100% recycled dinosaurs

i would definitely check out different service providers if you want 3 phones. we are with orange ,3 phones, all in a group which gives us free calls between all 3 ,so lets you use your minutes for other calls. you can have magic numbers - free calls to other orange phones and of course orange wednesdays ( cheap dates ) and hipo my first computer was 48k and it was amazing. the things you could do with it . i dont know of any phone that you could program : 10 print " FOG" 20 goto 10 and then print a whole screen of FOG . computer programming genius' us 40 yr olds

For what it's worth I'm with Orange, have been for years. Used to have four phones with them but dropped one when the eldest took over her own contract and have always had a good deal.
We currently have 2 N8's and the youngest a blackberry (don't know the model though) for me the N8 does everything I want it to do, VERY good camera at 12meg I can snap a pic or thirty out on site and by the time I have got back to the office they are sat in the email box ready to go in the report, simples. I run an old Orange contract from way back that Orange was trialing with early N95 users that gives me unlimited data (and I mean unlimited, sans sensible user policy too.... Never had an extra charge from it, ever and I chuck some data down it as well. That said, they have tried more than once to get me to change it... Anyway, I degress...
I only go into the orange shop to look at a handset, I would NEVER start a contract from one. Always use the direct talky down the phone route and then the 'I want to leave Orange / Vodaphone / etc' dept as they are empowered to do better deals and if you are signing up more than one phone then just tell them that they will lose all if they don't roll over and do a market busting deal THEN. If they don't then change providers, the dept manager will normally be on the phone in nano-seconds...
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... 'O-no' the truck.Comments on 'O-no' the truck may be left hereWork in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... Just a quick note to say the One X works with a micro sim, just incase you think you can just change sim over, you cant. If your keeping your number. Ive been walking around like a drug dealer for 2 months now with 2 phones waithing on 3 getting their act together & transfering my number over.
