Removed the starter motor what a pig that is on the 2.5 cleaned all the mud out of it then tested it before I put it back on. then had to buy a new battery at £70:20 670amps. The car is now running fine again. Just need to get all the water out of the carpets now.

I should hope it is running better after steam cleaning the engine ON THE INSIDE!!

Head gasket mate ... that should be your next job. I do reckon thats why you got away with it. The pressure had somewhere to escape through, as opposed to busting conrods etc.

well i have changed both front lights for ones with out water in and replaced ther rubber covers off them just having a rest then gonna do the diff oil and see if my breather pipe is blocked but it is clouding over

fitted a new radio..now i can actually listen to the radio rather than just cd..won it in the raffle..and then got a little "sad" told the truck how much fun it's keys had at the annual and then taunted the tyres with said keys....i swear they were saying "it's not our fault, blame the exhaust sensor or the cat"

edit*..also fitted a new shackle for the back..also sort of won in the raffle..(the two I won went to a better more deserving home..i just needed one not two..so an agreeable deal was struck)

well i actually listened to advice and today did oil and filter change, air filter, and fuel filter. 2 stroke oil to go in tomorrow. all the needles are pointing in the right direction now

oh and i bought anew set of 12N and 12S to replace the ones i mullered at the annual

then i loaded the truck with all the broken bits of truck ive acumalated, took it to the scrappy and got enough to pay for the service items

Took the alternator off and gave it a shower, cleaned up the brushes and the contacts and whamed it back in....it worked for a little wile....but at the end of a 7 mile round trip to a near by ford it had started to muck about again and would only work if the engine was above 4k rpm . At the end of said drive I also noticed the truck kept itself on the driveway without the use of the hand brake - not normal because its a sloped driveway and when I got out the off side rear wheel was snap, crackle and poping and the alloy was hot to the touch let alone the centre part.....and the stearing now has too much play in it to be deemed safe....and thats by my reckoning

So tomorrow ill be doing a more fuhrer cleaning of the alternator, ie open up the main casing, swaping back to ATs and cleaning the brakes while im at it and changing the near side tie rod end ...then I might get round to unpacking the back and attempting to get the clay/silt out of the carpets

Oh and the EGR needs cleaning out again because sat on the driveway revving at 2k rpm I cant see the read due to all the smoke it kicks out oh the joys of having a fronty eh lol. still....could be worse....could be a green oval....the above list would be...change rear diff....change transfer box....rebuild gearbox.....add some molislip to the front diff, weld the boot floor, again hehehe

Did this last evening as I'd developed a steering wobble at 55 mph. Pulled all the wheels off to find a slab of Northants finest glued to the inside of the NSF rim. while I was at it I picked the worst of the mud of od the suspension and drive gear. Oh forgot to say, mud aquired monday afternoon/evening while laning in the western end of Northants after returning from the annual.

All I gotta do now is clean the mud off the outside panels and lights then try to excavate it out of the inside (wheel spin with the windows open is a bad combination destined only to fill the interior)

busy day today. i will be fixing bob, front wheel bearing then taking out the starter motor swapping the wheels back to road wheels, then i will be fitting landy springs to another frontera ebay member, then i wil be fitting 3 doors and tailgate to another frontera vx1.

and did the LWB light convershion, and removed the bumper corners.
now need to make a rear bumper and fit it
