Re: DVD recorder advice needed...Sooooooo, I ended up buying an LG DVD recorder, but the first time I record something, I try to change channels and discover you can only record the channel you're watching! Is this perhaps, because the DVD thing contains the Freeview now, rather than the set top box I was using previously - and therefore, is there a way to hook up the old set top box and the DVD recorder, so that I can record one channel and watch another?
I'm sure all you techy people will be able to help!
Re: DVD recorder advice needed...if the dvd system has freeview leave it on the channel you want to record and use a seprate tv reciver i.e freewview box sky box what ever an plug that into back of tv on a seprate av /scart socket

Re: DVD recorder advice needed...Ta Drinks, I'll give it a try, not sure if the TV has more than one scart
Re: DVD recorder advice needed...you can buy multi scart socket boxes if it only has 1
WHY AINT I GOT AN ALL SINGING & ALL DANCING SIGNATURE LIKE BOXY & DRIFTY ?

Re: DVD recorder advice needed...A multi scart socket will not work for this application, because both units will be switched on at the same time and will be fighting each other to be on the screen. These things are only useful if you are only using one unit at a time and can switch the other one off...
You could connect the dvd player via the scart and connect the set top box via the rf lead (aerial) if it has one.... Ramsgate, Kent

Re: DVD recorder advice needed...Ta chaps, Krusher, do you mean connect the dvd straight to the telly with the scart, and the freeview box straight to the telly with the ariel lead? Um, so which one do I connect the ariel IN to?
Re: DVD recorder advice needed...You can get an aerial splitter and plug it in to both.....
Same as this-------> http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-Way-TV-Aeri ... %26ps%3D54 Ramsgate, Kent

Re: DVD recorder advice needed...If your signal is weak though, an amplified splitter might be a better bet though, as splitting your aerial will attenuate the signal slightly.
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()
Re: DVD recorder advice needed...It probably is weak, we couldn't get digital here on top of the hill for years after the people down the hill in the village could! I'll maybe go for the amp/splitter.
Thanks again for your help guys
