No I dont want to sell you dodgey sat nav or steal your hub caps lol! Hi all, new member from (not so) sunny Liverpool, been carless for a while but on the hunt for a new (to me) motor, was going for a xsara picasso then thought, Hmm I always wanted a fronty sport so feck it why not! Might sound daft but I have NO intentions of going offroad lol. I remember when fronties came out, me arl fella bought a cav from Lookers and I sat in a brand new 2.0 sport.. I think I am still a bit like that kid who sat in the drivers seat years ago lol, I always prefered the LWB but now prefer the sport. I will not be doing mega miles, just the usual stuff, shopping, taking lad to nursery usual crap like that, so I don't mind the lowish MPG.. Seems with the scrappage and the onset of wintertime fronties have come a bit thin on the ground and prices have gone up a tad. Will have to have a good read through your fine forums to know what to look out for, I am looking at a 97 P plate 2 litre fronty sport "apache" on gumtree, looks in very good nick, even the bonnet, looks rust free! BUT I must not be like a kid on pocket money day rushing to the 50 pence shop lol.. Lastly! Is there anywhere on the net that gives the spec/options/equipment list for each model? I usually look on parkers but nowt for fronty. Nice forum BTW, nice to see the lack of forum elite BS and general bitchyness! Cheers

Hi From all the way down here in Kent Im a newby too, purchased a frontera last year that had to go back (and onto the engine graveyard!) I also waited and found that they were thin on the ground (very very thin down this way, any fronteras around here are owned by people and they would fight to the death before they sold!!) and pricey, but all 4 wheel drives with low miles have shot up in popularity and price recently down this way. But I got my new girl yesterday and im smitten!! Mine was an ebay purchase and a 96 plate (everyone said I was cranky!!) but shes great on performance and as someone else said, when the snow comes all of those people who thought that I was mad will be on the phone for a tow (Tow bar attatched!). Have you been to visit the Frontera you are looking at yet? I did laugh at the 'kid in a sweet shop' remark, thats what I felt like last year when I lost the first fronty, the patience payed off though, and im glad I waited. It is a great forum, everyone very kind and friendly

Ello and welcome. I think remote central locking is facelift A series onwards, although you can aparently retrofit it to the earlier A series with a kit (it won't switch the alarm/immobiliser off though)

Cheers for the warm welcome! Suprised I've not had the usual scouser jokes yet (tempting fate now lol)
Defo going to view Lee's (liveswires) 2.2 LWB tomorrow not much else about within sensible distances.. apart from a 450 quid trooper/big horn in Wales, but thats got a slipping clutch (trying to sound like I know what am on about here lol) but I read that could be a DMF?? which would cost more than the troop is worth.
Really do love the looks of the big horns (the two tone ones with "handling by lotus") seen a few round my way they age really well me thinks.. Cant think of anything else that tickes me tickly bits.. Vitara - too basic inside - pajero/shoguns - bit erm drug dealerish looking! Maverick is the same as the terrano isnt it? ugly as sin.. Honda CR-V looks nice but not enough wonga for them..
Would love a crew cab brava or ranger but at price am lookin to pay they all gonna be right snotters..
Was in bed with the missus last night (ooh err) looking on fleabay at lots of goodies, she pipes up.. "you will use any excuse to drive it or wash it etc etc" I said "I wont" with a stupid grin on me face! She knows me too well.. I am getting impatient now, really want to look out me window to see summit on the driveway!
Me lil lad (2 next Feb) is giving it the "OOHHHH AHHHH" everytime we look on ebay, dunno who is the kid me or him!
Greets
(anyone who thinks camping in November is normal! can you fit a double blow up mattress in a LWB?!)

The scouse jokes usually get wheeled out to cover their fear when one of the others has to visit the area
