Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Changed the lower ball joint and outer CV boot on both sides and re-greased every thing in site that needed it.
Think the ball joints needed doing as there was a couple of mm play in each one. No more squeaks now and oddly enough the knocking has stopped too... This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been
Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... as well as a halfords pro breaker bar and scockets that was £10er the lot and then when i got home i decided i would do a diff swap, god it was fun on my own untill fogman turned up at 6, and was a great help so all i need to do now is put the drive sharft back in and i will have fully working 4wd and then i have to bolt the bash plates on as well CARTREK

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Shear bolts are normal bolts that the hex head shears off when hitting a certain torque. The reason is to prevent people undoing them to nick your ignition barrel. He has replaced them with normal bolts to eliminate hassle in the future.

But removing the barrell means you remove the steering lock and then all you need to do is pop the ignition switch out and start the car with a screwdriver! Stear bolts prevent it being unbolted as Neal said, nought to do with crashing. more to with not getting your car half-inched! Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!just fitted my new reversing camera kit with 7" screen and then dug an s video lead so i can run my laptop through it just need to sort out a usb gps dongle and then i can use it for sat nav, dvds using the av1 option as the camera kicks in when in reverse on av2.
just need to update my gps software on lappy to include something decent like meomery map just got find a decent gps dongle any suggestions a usb one would do cheers

Sprayed some contact cleaner on the multiplugs and now it's perfect again.
