Very decent offer Jase, and much appreciated :drink: I am hoping that someone can supply me with some steel sheet without having my pants down locally though. Gonna ring some fab companies tomorrow to see if they have any bits they have left over.

Si...try your local FRAG...most will let you buy stuff a little over scrap value, with is massively cheaper than the unmanagable size sheets that steel stockholders sell...

It would appear that there maybe some confusion (partially caused by myself) so I think it’s important that I clarify a few things.

All of the lanes / fords I have talked about, i.e. Splashy lane , The Car Wash and Conquering hero are all classed as newbie lanes. I.e. they are manageable in standard trucks. I know this as I have done them all several times without any mods other than a set of mud tyres , which on the lanes in question gave me no advantage whatsoever. I am a long way from being a laning expert (as will become apparent to all of you at the weekend), and I have never struggled. But I do know these lanes as they are between 5 and 20 minutes from my front door and I have no interest in pushing people to kill their trucks. That is not classed as a successful weekends laning! The only more advanced lane that has been mentioned is the Pheasant Steps, but this has been rightly taken off the table due to the state of the lane.

It is not for me to talk for Phil (Sir Doris) as he will very much have his own ideas on what lanes to include (or not) , but what I will say is that the lanes he has chosen for me in the past have been challenging , but ultimately doable and most importantly he is always (as is everyone else) very forthcoming with advice on how to correctly tackle every obstacle down to speed/gear/ hi lo box/ approach angle etc etc etc

Some of the videos I and others have posted show what can go wrong without proper thought and preparation. If for example the carwash is too fast and deep on the day, we drive around it. It’s that simple. There are so many lanes in this area it’s no big deal.

I would be gutted if anyone thought this weekend was a truck killer, and if I have somehow given that impression I wholeheartedly apologise. :drink:

I can't wait for this trip , a mixture of a good social scene and some cracking lanes . Bring it on :D

Good point Tom. We can all muck in. Just do it sooner rather than later coz I get mashed pretty quick and things tend to go wrong

Good point on the CB's. Anyone not got a CB ?
