New member TF help required

Postby 4x2vixen on Wed Aug 03, 2011 11:56 pm

Hi, I own an Isuzu 4x2 TF LWB Crewcab Pickup. Tried to get a 4x4 but really struggled, wish I struggled a little more after last winter. I am trying to find out info on spares and think that they are similar to the Brava/Frontera. I tried the Isuzu owners club some 2 weeks ago and have been blanked. Any help in identifying what or where would be very much appreciated.

I am trying to source spares , namely back brake shoes and hopefully a Haynes Style workshop manual for a 4x2 TF LWB Crewcab Pickup.

Does anyone know if they are available. I think the TF is based on the Rodeo,Frontero,Brava or maybe a combination of all.

Please feel free to slap me down and put me right if its different.

Hoping and praying for some help

Cheers Jim

HI jim and welcome to fog.
I am sure they are the same as the Brava looking at the pic's on google. I havent had much to do with them apart from stripping a 2000 model Brava 4X2 a few months ago

Hiya mate and welcome... 8) 8) 8)

Another PUP owner is always welcome as we are in the minority....mines a tfs55...

Rear brakes...the rear axle is deffo an isuzu jobby, not the dana type as fitted to the fronty leafers.

First port of call would be milners I reckon...01629 734 411 (their website appears to be down at the mo)...
Have found them pretty helpful in the past, and do quite a lot of stuff for the isuzu pickups.

Give them a try, have you chassis no handy as well as the reg cos they might need that.

I have a hunch that the rear axles on 4x4 and 4x2 derivatives are probably the same, and maybe also the same unit as a leafer trooper.

As for haynes manual, if your TFS is an early one I would go with an A series frontera manual, there is many similaritys which should get you out of most probs.

Let us know how you get on, if you get no joy we will have to scratch the grey matter more vigorously!
Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again...
She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body...
Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer!

Hi all, thanks for info and its always good to know there is someone there if needed. I'll try milners as suggested if spares needed and thanks again for the welcomes.

The problem I have is that every now and then if stop and keep my foot on the brake and change gear into reverse that it doesnt want to move. It rides up like the brake shoes are sticking. If I pull foreward a couple if inches you hear them clunk off and then it will then reverse ok. I'm hoping it just needs adjusting which I think is'nt to bad a job. I expect it'll be murpies law and the shoes will need replacing. All these jobs when you're up to you're arse in something else!!!! Digging out for a patio....... me thinks I'd rather be laid under the TF.

Cheers all Jim
