Bought 20 litres of 10w40 semi synth from VX for £35 (works out £1.77 per litre). Got to love VX Trade Club. Gonna treat her to some fresh life blood and do the same again 2000 miles later. She could do with a couple of flushes bless her 21 year old heart.

I didnt even think of that . Its worse in person....the flair is ment to bow outwards, not inwards lol. In the top pic u can see its pressed in by about half inch at the filler cap...not great...but I guess its about time it lost against somthing the front has managed to gave some1s car door in without so much as a scratch....so other cars are ok to hit, pillars arnt EDIT: Just been outside to have a look through the bottle jack cubby hole and yeah...it looks like it might well be fairly easy to bang it back out...the line will never go because its stretched the metal, but at least it might not be so noticeable if its got most of its shape back....thanks Neal!! as always, your the brains behind the outfit!

Hit a ballard/pillar wile doing a 3 point turn, it was to short to see thru the rear window and because I was on right hand down full lock it didnt show itself in the wing mirror untill I had hit the blasted thing

Started off intent on just changing the rear disks and pads, but found both calipers seized when I managed to shear the guide bolts so I ended up changing the caliper slide as well.
This posting may have been helpfull, on the other hand probably not... Either way, I may have had drink when posting it in which case it's probably not as helpfull as it could have been Work safe, and remember all technical problems can be resolved with a hammer, the trick is knowing where to hit it and how big a hammer to use (I often find it may also help to have a spare bit in the shed to replace the bit you have just mullered ) Work in Progress (or not as the case may be) I give you.... serviced mine over the weekend... The fuel filter was even rusty inside. after replacing that, plus the usual oils, filters etc, and putting a load of diesel system cleaner through it, she seems to be much smoother to drive. No more lumpiness at 50-60 mph on a neutral throttle. Also bled the clutch through and that seems much better. Fluid was black and full of air. Have noticed a tiny bit of movement around the bulkhead by the clutch cylinder so will weld that up later. Slowly getting her sorted...
2.8 SWB, TDI POWER.....
