Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Kind regards,
Ian Sorry for my pigeonenglish. ![]() My doctor says I have to invest time in SPORT
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!LOL @ Jeoh
With many thanks to Alfie for the assistance, the Sport now has 4 new +2" Rough Country shocks, a refurbished spider in the rear prop (used a good one from a spare front prop - yes, they're the same size) and the rock slider sills are now welded to the body sills, filled and given a coat of paint. We found some other jobs to do, but they will have to wait for another session. In return, assisted Alfie in dropping the tank off the 2.8 and replaced the two snapped tank straps. A good day. Lawrence

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Not today but yesterday (Sunday) ... myself and Robertmillsav spent the day with Hipo cahnging his rear crank seal (again). First impressions are looking good. Ran it for 15-20 mins with the gearbox off then whipped the flywheel off to double check and no leakage. Then in the evening after we had put it all back together (again with no extra or missing bolts
Told him to drive it like a Granny on Sunday going to church for the next 200 miles to bed it in and both myself and Rob demanded that he change the oil from the tar he has in there to nice new fresh stuff. I ache today. Mental note: Do not get into postion under a truck with a flywheel on your chest prventing you from moving when Dan has had curry the night before and wind that will peel paint!!! ![]() ![]() My members ride For Banshee the Trooper : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=34626 My members ride for Leeloo the Lotus Edition viewtopic.php?f=46&t=60154 Deceased My members ride for Brenda the Bighorn : viewtopic.php?f=46&t=54771

My NSR window was lowered by the wife. Not a good idea as the damn thing doesn't go up without assistance, so...I had to remove the interior trim, and help the window up whilst Chel pressed the "up" button. Jim and Phoenix

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Someone posted a great vid of a guy claying a car to remove imperfections and contamination/fallout from car body paintwork a while ago. The reason I was so interested is that after washing my Fronty the bodywork felt like it had ingrained grit all over it (fallout) and whilst it looked OK, it bugged me , so whilst I was in the local factors spending £100 on various other kit I bought a 'T-Cut classic clay bar kit' for £18 - 15% discount.
As well as that I was hoping that it might help with some fairly major scratches I had running down the O/S front wing which looked a bit unsightly. for those of you that don't know, 'claying' surprise surprise involves you rubbing in even straight strokes a flattened ball of clay with some liberal amounts of liquid sprayed over the treated area to stop the clay sticking and potentially damaging the paintwork. After very little effort the clay began to glide over the surface where at first it had struggled a little. Below is a pic of the clay after rubbing a small area of the bonnet. Bear in mind I did not start claying the car until I had thoroughly washed the car with hot water and Triple Wax car shampoo first, yet still the clay looked like this after very little effort. ![]() This pic shows the surface properly wetted and clayed awaiting a final buff ![]() Getting less impurities on the clay now - time to buff ![]() Now I can't believe I was daft enough not to take a 'before' piccy of this wing and bonnet area, but you have to take it from me it was dull and scratched and looked terrible. Anyway, here's the after pic. ![]() The body now feels like glass with an amazing silky sheen on it. The idea is that future polishing/washind should give better results now that I have done the initial hard work with the clay. EDIT: Oh, and don't make the simple mistake that I did after spraying my alloys with acid using a very similiar spray bottle to the one that came with the clay polish ....
