Hi, new owner hereHi, just a quick hello,
I have just bought a Lwb 2004 2.2dti and wanted to read more in particulate about the widely known pump problems. Just come from a labour intensive Disco 300tdi, picking up my new truck in the morning and looking forward to a more refined drive and hopefully less problems, reliability being top of my list. I am quite keen on offloading and have owned a purpose built 200tdi in my time, whilst not afraid to get dirty I won't be rushing out to destroy the sparkling paint job on my new motor as it is black !! Will definitely be doing some mods, already bidding on some Toyota Hilux alloys as a replacement for the OEM rims. Power is nothing without control.....

Re: Hi, new owner hereWotcha and welcome....
When you pick up your new truck...first stop petrol station and fill it up...Never let it go below 1/4 tank, cos if you run it out of diesel you are gonna be the buyer for a £800 ish job on the injector pump!!! Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!
click here for the SE Events Index/links Thread...see all the reviews and whats coming up soon! Looks like I'm in trouble with the Mrs's again... She asked me what I'd most like to do to her body... Apparently "Identify it" is not the correct answer! MAKE IT or BREAK IT! TEAMXTREME4X4 ![]()
Re: Hi, new owner hereSi...you'll get told off for doing quotes like that...reprimand yourself immediately and shorten the quote to just a few words of my post please!!!!

Marcus If you don't want grief down the line there are a few 'pre emptive' strikes you can make. Replace all vac pipes viewtopic.php?f=6&t=39514&p=440427&hilit=vacuum+pipes#p440427 Whip the EGR valve out and clean Full service Copper slip all the slides on all 4 calipers viewtopic.php?f=23&t=41421 There are other things, but these are a good starting point.

Re: Hi, new owner hereWell, hello again everyone, long time no post !!!
Within a week of making my first posts here the engine exploded in a million pieces, according to the garage the timing chain slipped ?? wtf ? The garage I bought it from took it back and purchased a new engine (second hand) and fitted it, then they couldn't get it running, then it was the wrong engine or something, anyway, I got my money back !! Just bought an older 1999 Fronty 2.2dti from eBay, just kinda loved it and wanted it, just hope I am more lucky this time !!! ![]() ![]() ![]() Power is nothing without control.....
