G'day cobbers! Unique Aussie Frontera.

Hey guys, new on the forum here, there's not much in the way of a community here in Oz, so I was hoping you guys would welcome a new face from down under. I've got a '99 5speed 3.2 V6 Frontera, it's got some pretty solid hgear in the way of suspension, Koni HD up front, with KYB HD adjustable and uprated springs in the rear, ARB bullbar, locking hubs and some other goodies yet to come such as 31" tyres and some driving lights. The truck is surprisingly capable offroad, I even had the supreme pleasure of pulling my mates' very lifted HiLux out of a boghole I'd just crossed.

Probably the biggest standout on my Fronty is the paint which I haven't seen very often, only on one or two SWB ones, so I'm happy to have something a bit different. It's a real bugger to keep clean though, but when it's clean, it's CLEAN. Here's a picture or two so you can get an idea of what my old mate looks like.

hay bud i will agree its is a nice couler and that bumper dose make it stand out and its got alot of clearance too how much did you have to pay for that then?

dont know if you have had 1 b4 but post any problems on here and the guy are great and 9 times out of 10 they can help

can i ask what the bumper is off as you look for arb bull bar for a fronty and none come up but have some for other 4x4 and was it a straight fit?????????

G'day mate welcome to FOG and yes once again...... Awesome bumper i even went looking on Ebay and found the same ones only made in Oz but they are £900 to buy then there is the shipping which i would hate to guess cos of the sheer weight of the thing

Wow, thanks for the warm wlecome guys! Firstly Boxcleva that won't be a problem mate, I'll edit that first post in a sec. Bullbar is Frontera specific, previous owner fitted it and got it matched to the paint so I don't know ALL the ins and outs but I'm sure glad it's there! Definitely gives a good "edge" to the truck, and yeah fits pretty much perfectly, sits a little outside the guard but I'd prefer that than having my panels unprotected. What do you mean regulations over there? I was wondering about all the moulded ones you guys have getting around and I guess that explains it because they're pretty few and far between here!

Ended up paying 5700 gold dubloons for it, got it rather cheap as it was advertised at the Navy base my old man works at and they palm stuff off fairly easily. Haha it's been muddy twice so far, I can't decide which way I prefer it, so I leave it unwashed for a few days then go and get him sparkly.

Again, great to see how proactive the forum members are on here, hopefully I'll be able to hel pa few of you guys out in return! Many other Aussie's getting around?

Yep, standard ARB bar. I've got some Roo-Lites coming in the next month or so, hopefully some racks from the fellow I bought it off and a roof tray as well. So far I've mostly been doing power line trails, which are basically service lines for the power poles out in the bush, some mudbashing on the mudflats near our town and just a few fire trails. Nothing hardcore, if I go out sunday I'll snap a few photos of the sort of terrain.

Wheeling buddies are a HiLux and my old man's Pajero. I believe you guys call it green laning, it's more brown laning here, or red laning considering the colour of the earth in these parts. There's some good rocky tracks but mostly clay and dirt hills and the fire trails are the most fun.

You guys are making me rather proud of the beast haha, planned to do a torsion bar crank this weekend, then I'll look into moving the bullbar to line up with a body lift. Had a search but there isn't a whole lot on here regarding that.
