would it be too cheaky for me to ask to "borrow" someones dti alternator to test that its defo. my alternator and not the chains that rattle. I've not had mine off, but looks like a simple and fast job. just need a fool to let me loose on there truck one evening lol. just need to find out for sure that its the alternator. because at about 180 quid new, its a very exspensive test, even more so if it turns out that the chains are the fault.

lol well my engine has a loud rattle at idle and when it has no load, ie its been running for a bit so it has put back the charge taken to start it etc. if it has a load or its reving then its fine, so as long as your does anything other than that, it'll show what the problem is
