Started dismantling the dashboard - to do two jobs. First, to wire-in a newly acquired VX switch to operate the roof lights and two; while I have the dashboard in bits to replace the blown bulb in the left side of the instrument binnacle. Will check the other bulbs whilst there just in case any are starting to silver.

Fogman i hear cat bonnet ornaments can be quite dangerous.....including clawing, biting, wrapping selves around legs whilst going up stairs even though they look cute and harmless

Planned for bank holiday weekend/weekends, remove bullbars and paint the front bumper/plastic bit

Thats me got insurance again for the lwb at a reasonible price for a standard 4x4. The company i used were http://www.sureterm.com/ The are "Classic Car, Motorhome, RV, Kit Car, 4x4 vehicle, American Classic or Caravan" insurers saved me 160 quid compared to my renwal with AA. Just need to take it for mot now. If your in a club think you get money off as he asked if i was in one an i got carvan cover included

Took the car out for the second fill up this year

and as I was hoofing it about 80 :oops:

down the M57 slightly up hill the temp went to just below halfway :shock:

Im not having that, so when the rear discs get done this weekend Im taking the 3.1 thermostat out and replacing it with the old 2.8 stat for the summer...wouldnt get that fecking warm in winter :lol:

In fairness it did cool down at 70 :oops:

Haven't done anything to the truck today - yet. I have though, passed on the site address to a chap to forward to a Fronty Owner somewhere in the west of Scotland.

FOGMAN, be careful what you put in your "cat", it could be damaging to the ozone and cause the fronty to fail its emissions test at its next MOT.

Not much today... Stuck the magmount on the roof and picked up my bottles of Molyslip from the parcel people...
Would've resides the stereo, but CBA. It'll happen before the Annual though.

well i refitted the EGR today with brand new gasket from VX £8.90 inc VAT :shock:

sandwiched it with 4 templates made from leftover Carlsberg tin

But unfortunately did not solve the rough idle problem :shock:

so took the cover off the cam belt lned up the top 2 timing marks to find that the intake came was 1 tooth advanced no wonder the damn thing was over fueling and running rough :twisted:

so slackened the belt off lined the marks up refitted belt and now runs like a dream :dance:

One job left to do now which is the upper ball joint on drivers side which is just a 20 min job i'll get round to in a week or two when my finances recover after having spent over £500 in three weeks :shock:
