Can you guys tell me how wife friendly this weekend is going to be. Planning on both of us coming up but the wife is asking if its going to be a bunch of us guys tyre kicking, getting our trucks muddy and drinking loads

Belated hello's to one and all.

Right routes have been planned... varying difficulties but nothing that cant be achieved in a standard truck with standard tow points and road tires or AT's.

Admittedly I havent driven some of the routes in a while but that just adds to the adventure.

Anyway, friday night there is some night laning if anyones interested... nothing extreme but the darkness makes it interesting. May have a ford or two if it rains but not hopeful.

As there are 15 confirmed vehicles there will be 3 main routes with a 4th optional route (its good but its a 40 miles drive from the campsite). Otherwise there is no reason why some groups couldnt drive the lanes in reverse for an added challenge.

For the group leaders Il be bringing my laptop for the transference of routes and also for anyone who has an SD card available and who wants them. Also the garage is available for any last minute repairs or tinkering jobs over the weekend, mostly a fully kitted workshop with lift.

Lawrence, If you dont bring the truck I have 4 spare seats, this also applies to anyone who needs a lift unless one of my neighbours decides to tag along.

One or two of the lanes may have some extremem sideways action but Im not 100% sure as its been a while. Either way should be a good weekend.

The entrance to the campsite can be a bit difficult to find for the first time and using the postcode in your Sat Nav or Google maps will find you about a mile away
If you look on the linked map, you will find the entrance to the farm in what appears to be a Lay Bye on the A487.
Coming South from the direction of Chester or Shrewsbury the entrance is on the right hand side of the road or on the left if coming North from the direction of Machynlleth.

I hope to get there early and park the truck on the road so you'll be able to spot it easier.

If anyone is in difficulty finding the site, we will be monitoring channel 10 on the cb for those that are near enough to pick up a signal from, and to avoid any other confusing traffic on channel 8 mainly from LR owners. Or you should have received my mobile number via PM by then, but can't remember if there is a signal

How many miles? Badboy , are you towing a caravan? that way we'll be moving slower and the V6 will get better consumption

I am so we need to allow an extra 1/2 hour. If Tom's joining us I think he'll be towing too. Don't worry about fuel consumption on the V6. I picked a route with loads of petrol stations

Cool, so a slip stream behind 2 caravans and low speeds, Might not need those petrol stations

just attach the V6 to the back of the caravan on an a frame = zero fuel consumption
