Youve packed the trailer already! good god, I still have to fit a new floor to mine lol!

And yes...go toll way, wouldnt look good for the FOG to have most of it brake down in a convoy lol. and then sods law would say a green ovel group would drive by and laugh...not good.

Besides, far less stress, I reckon.
I can never entirely understand why the Toll doesnae get more use actually, at least from trucks. I know it's a tenner to use, but unless you're doing that bit of the M6 overnight, you can easily be spending that much anyhow in fuel for the truck crawling along, and the overtime for the driver, heh.

Hi All

Alternatives to the toll are to come off the M6 at J15 (Stoke) and come across the A50 and pick up the M1 at Donninton, thats the way we used totravel up and down the country before the Toll Road was built, OR you could come off the M6 at J12 and go around the outside of Brum on the A5
efore cutting across country to pick up the M1 south of Leicester. One or two hours of good lanes going that way.

Choice is yours, £5.50 for the Toll, possibility of a jam on the M6 or a steady drive down the roman road and a couple of lanes to set yourselfup for the weekend. I know what I'd be doing

Regards

Stuart

Excellent thinking Baz, that's a route I frequently used in my artic to avoid the Birmingham area.
Not a huge amount of help for the contingent coming down the M54 from Wales though. There's always the A5 from Cannock along to Tamworth, then the M42 to rejoin the M6, although poor ol' Roo may need a guide for that one - Sorry Roo

Its allright Jim Roo is comming in convoy with me and Alchemist. I take it that were all still meeting up at the toll services? And the reason the toll road dont get much traffic is because they outpriced themselves.
When it was £2.50 for a car there was double the ammount of vehicle's useing it. As they put the price up then the cars slowed on the useage!

Catch ya at Avalanche Jim!!!!!!

basically all in the convoy paint/cover their diff pans say yellow so that the more subtle fronties out there on the motorway can be identified as us . as mine is you probably wouldnt notice but one like the scorpion sticks out a bit

btw andy you get my pm?

I thought the army painted their rear diff pans white and had a fixed red lamp illuminate it so the vehicles could convoy with lights out and not be seen from the air - that's my interpretation (am I close ?)
