Hi Im new too ~ so welcome and Hi to everybody
Dont mean to hijack your thread but thought with me only being from Dewsbury and new too it might be best to join in this thread rather than start a new one.
Hope some of the things i have to say dont put you off buying btw
Looking for advice/assistance from all members
I just bought my first frontera L reg Sport 2 litre ~ £325 with a few months Mot but nice and clean looking in and out. Got less than a mile in it before I broke down (I have been told the camshaft gone presumably as no oil getting to it) Bought the car on ebay. Havent been able to find anybody to repair the car and my mechanical skills are zilch so finding the bonnet opening catch is a major step for me....
I need a car for my job so reluctantly have had to hire a car and relist the Frontera on ebay. You can see her by clicking on the link or copy paste item nr 350032194326

If you dont want to go on ebay ~ happy to give all info here.
My question is ~ is it worth repairing? If so what would you suggest the maximum I should spend on top of the £325 already laid out? (parts and labour ~ as I say I can get the bonnet to open ~ thats it) Or should I just get what I can for it and just cut my losses and look for something else? If worth hanging on to and repairing... anyone local want to give me a price?
I wont need it for offroad. I dont use motorways. I do local journeys and average approx only 100 miles per week. Some weeks would only use the car 3 or 4 times so might be as little as 50 miles. Car is ideal as it looks quite nice and has a towbar as i have a small trailer and use it for local markets 3 or 4 days a week... max 20 mile radius of home
My trade is well in the doldrums at the moment with no signs of it picking up so dont want to be spending lots of money on this or any other car that will get used so little and only to cart my stuff to local markets. Frontera seems ideal as with back seats down swallows exactly same stock as my old Volvo estate.
All /any help advice would be gratefully received and very very welcome
Many thanks
