Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well.....I've been out for a good play in the snow. 4-6 inches, and it's snowing now. Forecast for about another 8 inches tonight. Woop woop. Oh, and I went to see my mate, who told me he kept spinning out in his Freelander. That'll teach him to go against my advice (I told him to get a 2.5tds 5dr!) So I offered to go pull him out of the snow when he tries to go home.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Not so much of what I did to my truck today, but rather how I did it.
Took a few tools out of the big toolbox into a more manageble bag... when I started the little job, I realised I needed a 3/8 drive ratchet for this: ![]() Fortunately, not too long ago, I managed to finally get a set of these from Halfords on one of their offers: ![]() In the package were a couple of other things I thought were a good idea, so stowed them safely in a tin of bits, that I just happened to have brought out with me - inside was safely stowed this: ![]() When assembled together, you get a a little ratchet drive that was just the job for the task in hand: ![]() Excellent bit of kit them ratchet spanners. Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Car has been sat a couple of days, so thought I best turn her over, temp gauge I have said minus 5 in the car and minus 6 outside the car, its sat in the shade.
So gave it three flashes of the glow plugs and turned it...didnt catch, tried again, boom into life, not bad with no cold start devices Glad Im not driving it today though as its got near 1cm of frost all over it, cant even tell its blue, even the tyres are white in frost Ste

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fixed it roadside in 19 degrees cold...
Had it going nicely for nearly seven hours straight for a long trip and had passed over the mountains and on the way back home. Then suddenly lost power and it stopped. Clearly lack of fuel, so I started to bleed fuel filter. Bloody cold!! After second attempt managed to start it again and drive off to fill her up with some descent winter diesel from the first available station and some condensation cleaner added. Drove home tha last two hours with no mishaps, so I think it must have been some bad diesel waxing up In the cold, or water in the fuel playing up. Never experienced a stop with it before.
