New member with a blown head gasket.

Hi everyone I have just bought an N-reg frontera 2.2 for the princely sum of £100 :D

It does have a few problems though, the previous owner was going to scrap it due to a suspected blown head gasket. It also is in need of new front discs and pads, and the MOT has run out.

Otherwise it is reasonably tidy so I don't think it was a bad buy.

I should be taking the head off this week. I have changed a few head gaskets before, but is there anything I should look out for particularly on this one?

hi mate & welcome to the forum re - the head gasket if youve done them before you probably dont really need much help but if your looking for a gasket set with bolts have a look at these below, used them on mine & the guy who did the job restores classic cars & he now uses them to supply him now :wink:

to be honest the 2.2 is infamous for blowing head gaskets, i presume you will get the head skimmed & tested ?
