Frontera Technical Support

Firstly, isn't this a superb forum? Been a member for a while but never posted anything until now.
Always found that by searching I could answer most of my questions and also found fellow members trials, tribulations and advice a source of encouragement and inspiration.
Great stuff folks.

Got my Frontera through a cheeky bid on eBay - I was only looking at towbars, but you know how these things can happen.
Since then I have gradually improved it by replacing what needs to be replaced and giving it regular maintenance.
On the one hand it does keep getting better, but then again I keep finding more I want/need to do to it.
So far it has had (in no particular order):
* New timing belt & tensioner.
* New radiator & antifreeze.
* New spark plugs & air filter.
* Replacement clutch.
* New front dampers.
* All steering track rods and idler arm replaced.
I think that's it. Managed to do it all myself on the driveway too, becoming very familiar with stubborn/rusty/siezed nuts and bolts.
Thank goodness for a blowtorch, hammer and WD40.

In fact, I am now in the position where it will be used to go on holiday to Normandy in a few weeks.
An odd situation caused by the insurance company covering my wife's BMW deciding they cannot cover us fully comp. Most bizarre.
The company covering the Fronty include this at no extra charge (top marks to 1st Central for this, but 'disappointment' with the large motoring organisation who are the main rivals of the AA for their inflexibility).
With this journey in mind I have plans to do the following:
* Remove and DIY-clean the injectors. (Yes, I will be replacing the O-rings, all 8 of them).
* Replace the fuel filter. (Been meaning to do this for a couple of months).
* Replace the rear dampers.

Hope to post more in the near future and be of some help myself with some useful pics.
