Yesterday i finally fitted my new rough country shocks :D And fitted a De cat pipe that Alex kindly sorted out for me (Thanks mate) :D
I then moved on and started to give the truck a service. I drained the oil and coolant and removed the rad and inter cooler and gave them a good wash :D
I then noticed that the fan belt tensioner bolt was snapped and the belt was holding by a thread :( As i could not get a new belt until Monday the truck is still in bits.

Ive used a coach bolt from B&Q as a temporary fix for about 3 years  for that tensioner, you will rethread the square bit on the tensioner when you fit it so it will be tight, but it works

Went to Andy's and......

fitted cb aerial, with worked for about 20mins then stopped..(trip to Maplins on friday morning me thinks, that'll treach me not to buy cheap e-bay stuff)

wound up torsion bars about 3/4'', upon Drift's advise to take out sloppyness in the steering...now that worked a treat..

Think that it's the CB it's self, getting some kind of signal when andy and furball were transmitting but not a sound, nor when tranmitting out either. Maybe the cb's transponder is shot. Strange as it worked perfectly when you were around. Tried it with Furball's spare aerial, no difference. I'll just get a brand new one friday

Got my CB properly installed with aerial mounted on the spare wheel carrier...

We also found what we suspect is the source of the noises coming from under the truck, but we'll know more about that when we have a proper look at it on Friday morning.

today i found my petrol leak was coming from the base of the fuel pump ,you know where the two pipes go into the tank well the one nearest the drivers side was leaking .not fast but it was getting wet . does this mean a new fuel pump (i hope not ) also found i had a radiator leak , only small at the moment ,right in the middle about 4 inches up .but it seems like i did sort out my oil pressure .changed the oil and the filter it seems the filter was to blame like alf said .but my god was it on tight at least a full turn before it came loose ,so im on the look out for a cheap rad ,and a cheap fuel pump ,ahh yes i,m also going down brean bank holiday with the trailer tent , the joys of owning a fronty eh :)

Is it the rubber pipe that come from the metal pipe to the fuel tank or the metal pipe on the sender unit it self. you can just change the rubber pipe if it is but make sure you get the right rubber pipe though as wrong pressure it will burst aan make sure they ok forthe type of fuel or it may melt

topped up brake fluid and power steering fluid, as Drift noticed that the brake fluid was a little down.

just turned on the thought to be knackered CB and got the amazing sound of two old duffers talking about forgetting soap powder from the poundshop. not quite sure why that happened as yesterday it worked then gave up the ghost..not done a thing to it and now its working again..weird. (also got voices on other chanels, but no body about on ch8)

Get yourself one of these

They are slightly oversized and fit nicely and make oil changes a complete clean dodle and you never have to remove the sump plug again

Following a little local driving this weekend, I noticed a metal grinding noise under load.

Popped under the Sport with the grease gun this evening to grease the prop spiders...

I don't think the grease nipple is supposed to come away with the gun:

Image

Another visit to my friendly mechanic tomorrow me thinks, to have both ends of the prop replaced, just in case

Unless it isn't of course. Just have to tighten those bolts and see if the noise goes away :)

Dry solder joint inside it somewhere then. Probably breaking when the rig warms up. Just gotta decide if it's worth sending it to the fixers or if it's easier to just get the cheapo Maplin one

Yeah, probably going to geta cheapy maplin one, saves the hassle for now. Will think about seeing if the one I've got now is worthwhile getting repaired after Bala. Still a bit odd though...mysteries of electrics and electronics, just can't fix that stuff with a hammer..
