Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fitted a remote locking kit for the doors. Nice little kit from RightClick, www.rclick.co.uk. I got the one with flip key
I found a nice place for the main unit right behind the drivers side dash mounted speaker, pretty easy to access just by removing the speaker. Not too hard to wire up, but a pain to get the new wires for the actuator through to the drivers door... Anyway, now I can open and close my old Frontera A with the click of a button. Neat
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Ripped out the birds nest of the vacuum pipes and solenoids .. very pleased with the results.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Went to Trago Mills pay and play site today with the family and won't be doing that again in a hurry
The little one screamed her head off in fear(it was her first time offroading, bless her),the Betterhalf just sat there laughing. Within the first half hour the distinctive smell of burning clutch filled the truck (I knew i should have replaced it while i had the engine out ),closely followed by the battery light.Started to limp home and had the temp shoot up into the red as i went up the only steep hill on the journey home I'm now on the hunt for a radiator,Altenator (unless i can clean it up) and a clutch for Tessie. Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Today spence helped me rotate all tyres on both fronties. Lil man was on the whizzer and was a star. We then changed tyre pressures and moved the brake vac resevoir to by the air intake. Now got room to mount the compressor behind the battery.

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Fixed it
3rd check of the vacuum pipes yielded a split which, when repaired, solved the problem of it falling into limp home in 3rd, 4th, 5th gear at 3k revs. I'm guessing this might have been something to do with the turbo wastegate or something like that. Actually that's a guess, but it's not doing it now. In other news, maybe it's already noted somewhere on the forum here, but y'all know that if you break down in a (big national chain) supermarket they have a breakdown service which covers any car in their car park? Just go to customer services, tell them, and a man in a van will come and fix you or tow you to a garage.
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!
OOOooh, is that a nation wide thing?
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Not today but Yesterday seeing as the weather was good
Cleaned and re-undersealed the underneath of truck and in the wheel archs Sprayed the most exposed parts with stone chip protection after wiring brushing any tatty bits. Removed speakers from rear and re-located them into speaker pods just behind the rear seats and added some sound deading to stop vibrations, Fitted cross overs and Tweeters in to the original speaker location sounds pretty good, ![]()

Snap.. I have a feeling the drain channels for the sunroof are blocked with crud, as the roof itself hasnae been opened this winter Jim...

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!
That reminded me - I went out to the Sport earlier in the year during the cold spell, with the intention of giving it a run up the road. It's sun roof leaks too, and with the water proof seat covers, there was a 2" thick ice rink on the drivers seat. The sunroof has since been sealed (until the warmer weather appears) The BBB did used to leak a little - tip: take some curtain wire (the plastic coated springy stuff) and poke it down the forwarf drain tubes - for added effect, grip the wire in the chuck of a cordless drill. The exit is somewhere at the rear of the front wheel arch and a lot of off road work is sure to get them blocked. Lawrence

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!
Yeah, I saw your post to that effect from some timme ago. Current fix is to park it pointing up-hill, and I'll deal with it at the weekend. I did clear all the crud out from behind the arch liners though. As for other stuffs, we're now sporting a new set of wiperblades, cos the old ones were shot; and tested the compressor for the new airhorns as the compressor for the dixie horns sadly (I really mean it, honest Lawrence, don't suppose you've still got the modded front grill with the cutout for the clutch, have you? Otherwise I'll have to do this one, or fit a bodylift to get round the problem. Jim...
