As mentioned in my previous post, the ford itself was a little dissapointing (only around 1/2 foot even after all this rain) however the lane itself was intresting.

moved to relevant Thread....
And yes I do use Preston Fields Ford a lot but as it's a Green Lane as well I don't do it all the time. I took HL3, Apache_Andy and Trugga through it on the Fording Run. The water level rarely rises by much but when it does the 2nd Preston Fields Ford on the Adjacent Road comes into action.
Hi steve, thanks for moving it, ill remember to put it in the right forum next time.
The lane is a good. It was good fun, well at least better than my other experince of laning later on it the day. See this thread http://fronteraowners.co.uk/v-web/bulle ... php?t=2487 TC

The Local Councils Rights of Way Officer....
OT; Turbo, I went that way through Preston Fields the First time I found it, (I missed the turn on the other side) but now have a nice road route in coming from Knowle (Temple Balsall Ford/Start of Run) and then head across to Studley for the KC & GA Fords
Which county were your driving in? You need to contact the Rights Of Way (RoW) officer. You will need to identify the road in question, maybe from map references. [I've not done this myself yet] You should also be able to visit the Council Offices and look at the Diffinitive Map & Statement (DMS) and List Of Streets (LoS) A lot of Councils now have websites that list the RoW officers contact details and a lot are now string to publish Unsurface Rights Of Way (UROW) details on the web, especially Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO's). I hope that does'nt confuse too much. Lawrence
Good information trugga. Ive had a quick look at the local councils website and found this.

Just came back home via preston fields lane after going to the duram ox pub. (those who are local will know it)
Its spooky at night, you also gotta be carefull as there seems to be a hole in the fence and there were a few loose sheap on the track, as well as a muntjack deer. The fronty took it all in its stride though

I'll pack the Knives!! Got to skin Muntjack virtually straight off!! Back on Topic ... the Lane is Mental at night, I did it a while back at around 23:00hrs ... Pitch Black, Full Moon and No Lights !! Mental
Proper Stephen Kings' IT Mental ... You start seeing things in the shadows and You're convinced You're going to smack into something .. I forgot the Bleed'n'Gut, I apologise ... been a while since I was present at a Muntjack kill
ah right...when that happens I just turn the lights off and bury the throttle. If nasty things are out there they can't catch or see me then you see! ![]()
until you smack into a tree at 50mph !! lol
that's what makes it fun.
did I mention that you need to have the windows down and be shouting "YEEEEEEHHAAAAA!" at the same time? Ever feel that you've drifted slightly off-topic? ![]()
I do that anyway on the Motorway !! usually when the Fuse blows for the Window Controls! lol topic .... topic ............... top .. oh hell!! Anyway, Preston Fields , definatly good fun at night .. Great alne's just as bad as you can't see the Sheep on the Approach Side until you're almost on top of them
I know sheep are known as proper man eaters Hey andy I didnt realise u had a Full FA cert?
