Hiya guys...
We have now had the use of the woods in Kent for just over 6 months, and its evolution from a piece of wooded property that you could barely drive into, to what it is now, is a massive achievement and a true testament to the dedication and hard work of all those who have helped us to get it this far...
I cant wait for the next 6 months that will see the top of the woods and sections of the bottom transformed further, combined with the return of the sun and natures own transformation as the woods come alive and the tyre clogging mud retires...
6 months ago, I have to admit, I wondered whether we would pull this off, whether our members would support the venture and if the massive amount of work required could be accomplished in a reasonable time-scale to get things off the ground...
But we have done it, and it is with great anticipation and excitement that I now look forwards to the next 6 months, now knowing the support we have to drive this project, not from just members any more, but from members who have now become our friends...
A huge thanks everyone, without you all this wouldn't have been achievable....
Everyone involved who have supported this, should rightly feel proud that they have been a part of the evolution of a project quite unique and special...
That thanks is extended to all those who have given us things for the woods and given me advice/support when I have needed it...
A special thanks goes to my Sally, who has been the best through all this, from lugging timber in the rain, to being a great hostess at our meets...
and to John who owns the woods for giving us the chance to do this...without his faith and cooperation this would have never got off the ground...
I thought it would be nice to celebrate the first 6 months up the woods by nicking and posting what I thought were the best of everyones pickies from our various meets up there...(I hope everyone is OK with this ) It is amazing how we have changed the woods into our own special fun area....
.....gotta say the cars are sporting a lot more Mods too!!!
Anyway, enough of my waffling....I give to you The Evolution of the Woods, a true tribute to everyone who made this happen!!! The recce....back at the beginning of August....to have a good look in the woods to see if the terrain was gonna make this feasible after a brief viewing with the landowner... This pickie was taken by the stump garden...it was as far as we could get into the woods, and I had smashed my windscreen getting this far! Next came the first workday in mid august....cutting through the first tracks and clearing the big bomb hole at the top of the site... Look NO mud!!!! The top bomb hole...where Bobbinsjob got stuck in Angelina last meet! The stump garden....claimed badboys first diff!! The small bomb hole where krusher got stuck and I bent the Chevybravafings bumper on a tree stump Next came the first SE meet proper at the end of august....and a sneak preview for everyone at the woods... Next came the first Picnic in the woods in mid september... and the infamous "mind out for the tree" moment for badboy!!! and jims disapearing window Next up came mid October and another workday....and it was getting wet in the woods... ...where these little beasty tyres put in their first appearance on the l'ill white leafer!!! The end of October bought about another picnic as the leaves fell from the trees onto the floor of the woods... and we had been playing with a digger!!! Next up was the end of November workday...only a few of us....and we got soaked....it was now getting really wet and slippey... Then into december with the Picnic....and now was getting really muddy.... The new year bought another picnic and loads of mud....a few days before there had been 15" of snow in the woods... Following a workday in feb we were prepared for the first weekender, but the weather had other plans, so a picnic took place on the Saturday instead....disappointing not to the whole camping thing, but it was still a great day... and we aint never seen mud like it...cars on a/t's were getting stuck in the clearing!!! And there you have it....
6 months in the woods....
and 6 months that Sally and I have enjoyed spending up there with you guys immensely....
I hope scrolling through this post brings you all as many good memories as it did us,
and gives you all a great sense of pride in what we have accomplished together through all our hard work...
Just think it will be summer again soon, trainers instead of wellies, t-shirts instead of waterproofs....
and the site will evolve yet again, both through the contribution of nature, and a load more hard work...
and we will have our weekenders, and have a good few well earnt beers together Thanks everyone for your support so far....and I really hope you have all enjoyed it as much as we have...
Greg and Sally

Oh the memories all those photos bring back. Seeing my old black Fronty doing it's stuff (or not doing it as the case may be ). I have to agree with Greg, in that, what the woods and our adventures there have brought, is friendship with a great bunch of people. Roll on the future, where hopefully we can make more friends, and have even more fun

Thanks for all your kind words everyone... Keep looking through these pickies, everyone tells a story, and everyone makes me smile, laugh or ache.... We have had some laughs up there, but the really nice thing is with you guys, ....is its never us all laughing AT someone, it always laughing WITH them... I was gonna try and just do a couple of pics from each meet, but couldn't choose as there was so many cool moments capturedSo I thought what the hell, anything that jogs a memory and raises a smile goes in... Really glad you have all enjoyed spending a few mins, prompting some memories and raising a few grins, looking back through a photographic biography of the last 6 months in our woods....Thanks again for all your help and support.... ....as Retro Pedro said Phase 2 is in the planning, and with a continuation of the support you guys have always given, I know we can accomplish this too and have a bloody good time doing it, and then have loads more memory making enjoyment to follow... Laters and Cheers guys... Greg and Sally...
