How Do from ManchesterAlreet fellas, I got my W Reg 2.2 DTI back in May and so far i'm loving it, i've not had chance to do anything to it as straight away I had to pay Service, MOT, Tax, New Exhaust (Plus backbox etc) and new wiper linkage then Christmas, but i'm hoping to have a bit of fun with it this year.
I'm 25 and its my first 4x4, and so far I have to say I love it, especially in the recent weather, I live right on the outskirts of Greater Manchester up in the Pennines so i've been leaving it in real wheel drive and letting it slide as much as I can on the country roads, but i've not had a problem getting stuck as the Magic Button always helps me out. Its been so good that my Old Man is looking at getting rid of his brand new Vectra for a used Defender.

Re: How Do from ManchesterAs for trading a vectra for a defenda, go for it, however sit in first and see if its your thing
One needs to drive with the window open to have some elbow space, the wipers are fun, and the hunched driving position can be interesting, especially when your knees and toes are cold owing to lack of effective heating, yet your ankles are worm from the transmition tunnel I personally like them, but also like the comforts of the frontera. http://www.crag-uk.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Re: How Do from ManchesterNah, no such thing as stupid questions here when it comes to truck stuff. Generally the technical gurus on here are just happy to help
You will also find that if you have something big to do there will usually be a few who are willing to pop round and help in exchange for a good supply of tea and biscuits Don't forget to stick your names down for the annual meet at Bala later in the year. Muddy fun and random madness plus plenty of opportunities to explore the capabilities of your truck... viewtopic.php?f=106&t=28483 Don't grow up, just get bigger toys

Re: How Do from Manchesteryeah i went up the A6024 woodhead rd out of holmfirth that takes you to the woodhead pass. It was still closed but i thought id chance it as it looked pretty clear, needless to say it was a diffrent story near the top i managed to get the summit started heading to woodhead pass then got badly stuck and cos i was my own and no one to tow me i spent 2 hours digging out. Great fun worth every minite, found a couple of shortish tracks/lanes nearby to play on nothing to bad but still good fun.
