EPC3.0 Error code

EPC3.0 Error code

Postby Retro Pedro on Sun Nov 15, 2009 3:39 pm

Can anybody with IT knowledge help me on this one.
Have previously run EPC3.0 on my computer nearly successfully but since reinstalling, can't get it to run properly.
When it was on first time around it never displayed the illustrations and parts listings properly. There was always a band at the bottom like somebody over layed a picture box on the data.
Since then, I have run google chrome and tried to re-install to so it will run properly.
Now it loads the menus correctly, right up to where the exploded line drawings and part numbers are.
Then I get an error message - 'undefined' is null or not an object
panel.js Line: 8
Code: 0 Char: 69
URI: http://localhost:1322/Epc3/j/panel.js

I'm running Windows Internet Explorer version 8 and have tried the advice A friend posted regarding uninstalling Java version that is installed with the EPC3.0 link (if I've got that right) and then finding and installing the latest Java version.

Does anybody think it's related to Pop up blocking in localhost or something else?

Any advice would be gratefully received.
Pedro

You need to click the Compatibility view button Circled in Red

Green button, looks like a broken page just to the right of the address bar. May need to shut down and restart IE afterwards if it doesnt auto refresh.

Electronic Parts Catalogue.

GM electronic catalogue of motors and part numbers. Copies crop up in various online auction sites from time to time.

Cheers Sir Doris - Bang on the money

What happens is that I go to load the EPC3.0 programme - loading sequence is Internet Explorer - then to local host - then GM EPC3.0
At this point I'm getting full view windows - tab through the sequences to Part Number - that's when the error comes up. So go back to local host - hit the 'green broken page' box - Message comes up that it's doing a compatibility check - then allows me to be able to view the Part numbers and exploded line drawing pictures - which is where I want to be.
The only thing now is that the full panels cannot be view - like it was originally, i.e. where it appears like a picture frame is overlayed at the bottom of the panels hiding the info. Annoying, but I can scroll down the listings so that the items listed at the bottom are pulled to the visible top part of the panel and can be read. But at least I can get to see the full info, part numbers and diagrams.
Will I have go through this sequence every time I load up, or is there a button somewhere that I should press so it holds the compatibility setting?
Thanks again Sir Doris - Pedro

Should only have to hit the compatibility button once and it should hold the setting. What is your screen resolution set at?

The screen resolution is 1024x768 pixals - Highest 32 bit.
Have just noticed that the screen driver is still set to my original CRT monitor (NVIDIA GeForce FX5200) but I change it to a Digimate 17" LCD a few years back (DGM L-1718). Don't think that would have a bearing do you?
I have reloaded EPC after reboot and it is holding the compatibility setting.
Thanks for you help on this one Sir Doris
