WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well today i finally got to do something on my new truck
Well spent all afternoon removing my gearbox in the rain
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Need to drop the tank and sort the fuel leak in the morning, so spent part of this evening rolling around in the dark and rain sorting each of the 4 tank bolts (joy of a waterproof thermal suit).
All now ready to go in daylight. 1 undid easily, one came out but the bolt was dead, so replaced bolt. One sheared so drilled out and retapped the hole and fitted a new bolt, nut came off the stud easily as well. Hopefully the rest of the job will now be drama free!!!
Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Well my Fronty stayed in the drive at home watching the seal's go by while I was trying to get photo's of an Otter that just refuses to stay still long enough for it to have it's photo taken, the joy's of wild life should just stayed in me truck and kept warm

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Today we went and picked up a 2.5tds Lwb from ch3f down in chichester...
If I am honest I expected the worst as has been for sale for ages with no takers, and I new it had been offroaded so would probably be battlescarred... but was willing to take a gamble as so long as the engine was ok, as I could get my money back worst case scenario... What a surprise, pretty tidy honest car, needs a bit of TLC and some interior, but drives fantastically (for a fronty!)... Cruised back to the costa del mud with no hickups whatsover, temp didnt move, no nasty noises, reckon its doing 30+mpg... well pleased... Need to decide what wheels to put on it as came with 2 sets... I like the fatty early A wheels but Sal prefers the 16" alloys... Think I will chuck some big muddies on the 15's...then Sal can change em back to the 16's when they are caked in mud if she wants to!! Sally got lost following me...didnt see all the signs for the M25 off the m23...goodness only know how, and then proceeded to carry on towards croydon as the fronty she was following was "obscurred by a mercedes, and then noone would let me onto the slip"...Sally was driving my works Astra...told her after, that all she needed to do just one flash of the left indicator then turn left, and let the others sort out what they were doing and get a free ABS test!!!(company car logic there!!) Waited for sally for a while at clacket services on the m25, had a chat with A friend, said hi to the midlands massive on the phone, then sally finally arrived cursing!! I laughed so much...but I think I will pay for that somehow!!! Oh...and i nearly set the new fronty alight when a ciggy came back in, and wedged itself between my back and the drivers seat... could see smoke coming from behind me, and could feel a burning sensation.... rather hastily pulled over into a laybay, jumped out as the car stopped itself on the handbrake with the rear wheels locked...and removed the offending ciggy... Well Impressed with a lwb coiler handling, my old leafer would have flipped doing a 70mph 90 degree left into a layby!!! Was dramatic, but learnt a lesson... must wear fire retardant T-shirt in future... The error was I was trying not to flick the fag out where it would get sucked into the snorkel... Sally was alarmed/amused as was following me! Blinding day...and in fact weekend with the Jimbo's laning yesterday... Nice to meet ch3f today...really nice fella, and a pleasure to do business with, another quality member /ambassador for FOG... Thanks very much ch3f you are a star and car is brill...hope its all goes well with your place in sunny spain Laters Gregster Check out the index thread below where pics/reviews from all our past meets can be found!!!!

Re: WHAT YOU DID TO YOUR TRUCK TODAY!Started prepping up for my Help for heroes campaign today ,took the rear left leaf spring out it came out after a bit of chopping from an angle grinder ,also shocker had to come of with half the bush still left on the nut ,i think the top one is suppose to be in half , also starting to drop the fuel tank to check the top and discovered the dried mud at the top of the filler neck was stopping the fuel coming out
