Have you tried booting in safe mode, then completing the install.
It has probably made changes to your registrey but as it has not completed the install the registrey is incomplete.
Completing the install should correct the registrey.
If that works then back up the registry and then run a registry cleaner to remove any corrupt files left by the failed install.

Boot in safe mode and uninstall zone alarm if poss, failing that edit the registry and remove any references to zone alarm including any folders etc. there may be a seperate program for removing all traces of zone alarn on their website, I know adobe and a few other companies have small programs specifically for removing all traces of their software.

Could always check the zone alarm forum for help: http://forums.zonealarm.com/
I also drink Port and I'm not ashamed to say it!

When you get it up and running, get a copy of "System Mechanic 9!"

This will clear out any rubbish from your hard drive AND Registry!

It is also usable on "up to 3 PC's"

This new version also clears things up for you by running in the background, but only when resources are not required elsewhere!

i.e. it doesn't interupt what you are doing.

It's available from "iolo.com" and costs $24.95 (yes, that is dollars.)

Good Luck!
