Anyone drive it.?
Was looking at going tommorow. Any problems to be encountered with an unmodified truck on road tyres?
Did a search, but got nothing of help.
Thanks guys.

Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle?Well,
We are back and still in one piece. Really easy and well kept route. Couple of little bits that challenged the underbody protection, but nothing it couldnt handle. Would really reccomend this to anyone who is wanting to try greenlaning for the first time. The car hardly even got dirty! Pictures to follow
Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle?nice one looking forward to the pics

Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle? We are impatient arent we?! lol
The drive there took us through Swindon, which was nice: ![]() And a few shots of the route: ![]() ![]() ![]() The only other 4x4 we saw on the route. ![]() There were byways shooting off all over the place, most of which had no date restrictions whatsoever ![]() ![]() And the hill fort at the end: ![]() We set off for home, and decided to travel via Shilton to take in the ford. Was a bit gutted when we got there and it was under 1ft deep, but water is water!: ![]()

Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle?Nice to see piccies of different lanes, shame that so much of the Ridgeway is now closed to traffic
Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle?
Agreed, the byway goes straight up through the hill fort and gets more interesting after that. Although there was a byway going around the hill fort, didnt want to risk going any further in an unmodified truck!
Re: The Ridgeway Overton Hill to Barbury Castle?
Standard cars are generally more capable than given credit for, that said it is always a good idea to go out with another, just in case
