Getting video onto the PC

Getting video onto the PC

Postby headbanging on Sun Aug 09, 2009 9:54 am

Hi all,

We took part in the beginners Green Laning day, and filmed some bits as well as photos.

We would like to get the video onto our PC, but haven't got a clue how. The camera is a samsung vp-d361 and records on tape. It has a DV socket, and a micro USB port. Does anyone know an easy way to get this on our PC?

Thanks
For what it's worth it was worth all the while
It's something unpredictable but in the end is right

If you plug your camera into the PC via USB (or Firewire if you have the cables and port), then fire up "Windows Movie Maker" (part of XP). It will then take you through the video capture process, and allow you to easily edit your film ;)

Basically, the capture process should be able to control the camera (i.e. rewind it to the start of the tape, play and capture automagically).

Hope that helps!
