Hi

I have been looking at a nice 2.2 rs petrol sport which i was about to put a deposit on until i read some of the information on you site which just scared me off. Is the 2.2 really a weak engine and just how common is it that 'big ends' go and conrods break through the block. I only want to use it for my commute to work and and possibly the odd motorway journey.
Any advice is appreciated

I'm sure the 2.2 guys will be along shortly to answer your question, however it will very much depend on how well serviced the engine has been, how many miles it has done etc
