Sony Ericsson W995 Sat Nav

Sony Ericsson W995 Sat Nav

Postby Drift on Sun Jul 19, 2009 7:39 pm

Is there a Sat Nav like Tomtom or Copilot that will work with this phone, it does have GPS.

I got a new contract for Lee and it would be handy if the phone took Sat Na as Im not to keen on google maps.

Other than that is a rather good bit of kit.

It comes with something called Wayfinder Navigator. Any use?

It uses the Symbian OS so I suppose any sat nav type software written for Symbian will work.

Got one also.
Been trying out some 3rd party apps but nothing very good yet.
There may be a garmin app that will work, but I cannot find an evaluation  copy to download and try.
I will also work with google maps (which you can download on your phone from the wap version of google maps), or from [linkurl=http://www.google.com/mobile/products/maps.html#p=default]here[/linkurl]
Select the symbian version to download.
I also have some other Sony apps from other phones still to try, your welcome to them if you want (PM me your email and I'll send them as an attachment)
Will let you know as and when I have a result with anything else- I will find something!

Thanks for the link, just downloaded google maps to a nokia 5800.

Not to bad a program. The phone came with a 90 day licence to nokia maps, just deciding wether or not to purchase it.

Will give google a few weeks trial.

Anyone recommend any other mapping software i could try out?
