Alot there are footpaths.
There are other roads or tracks, most seem to lead to farms ect, others there status would need to be checked.
I can have a look tomorrow having difficulty with wayfinder, ermm forgot my password  waiting for it to be resent.

Hold that though.
Just realized, its a national park and the park authority can change the status of a lane within there boundaries, and I belive its not always for the worse.
Might be worth checking there web site or giving the park a ring or local council Rights of Way Officer.
But again the par authority would be the best bet.
Good luck Carl, Ill get down there one day :D

If the lanes are drivable there it would be fantastic, its an awsome bit of countryside down your way.

Sorry Carl, been a bit busy today (brakes, steering and a charity video)

Ste's right regarding the Parks taking over the management of the lanes within the park, but I'm not sure it is actually in effect yet.

Theoretically, red dots and red crosses are available to motorised vehicles, subject to the local council having not closed them.

I had a quick look here, but could not find a list of TRO'd lanes.

Carl you lucky *&@£@ :D

I have to go into other counties
I dont think Merseyside has one lane over 500 yards long.
Oh not counting the bit of beach we can drive on at 5mph, while the warden is therer 9 to 5, after that it gets strange there

right then Anna e-mailed the d.n.p.a and got this back

Dear Anna Marie
Unfortunately there are only a few 'byways open to all traffic' in the National Park (about 19km in total length) and there are none which actually go across the open moor. The ones which we have, tend to be in valley or farmland areas and are only short lengths. All the byway routes are shown on Ordnance Survey maps - the best one to use is the Explorer map no 28 (or alternatively Landrangers Nos 191 and 202). Also Devon County Council has an interactive map on its website which shows all rights of way, and you can see from this where the byways are. You can also of course use the minor unclassified roads in the national park.
Best wishes
Sarah Blakemore
DNPA Access & Public Rights of Way Officer

so it's not looking good for a dartmoor run
But i have managed to find a few other lanes which i know for a fact are "public byways"........but most of them will scratch
