Hiya from seymor54

new to FRONTERAS, but olde to 4x4, previous 4x4 have included, Toyota Tercel 4WD and a Nissan Terrano II.

Recently the Terrano II gearbox blew, and as its the 2nd time its done this don't fancy the £1000 cost of fitting a recond etc etc, so went out looking for a cheap 4x4 for fun.
My main car is a rare Nissan Elgrand E51, which is a BIG MPV, for my sins I have been both Admin and Moderator of the Elgrand.co.uk forum, but more recently due to the many problems of a BB bulletin board have created a new forum ELGRAND.ning.com for Elgrand owners that now has a 150 members (we are rare) that's been achieved in 5 months!

Anyway back to my new TONKA Toy - picked it up this week, definitely has got a rear diff or wheel bearing wurring noise, the engine is like an oil well, spilling allover the place, so it needs a bit of TLC, so any help in this direction would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to the Frontera Owners Group.

We're quite sociable here in the Midlands, with the next meet being on Tuesday 5th May (look in the calendar for location)

Just one thing, please resize your posted images (max size is 640 x 480) - not everyone has broadband or a high res PC monitor.

Thanks for the advice about the midlands meeting

image sizes, dont like BB bulletins for this reason as its too complex to sort things out - will resize the image when I get the chance to, admittedly its a constraint

in case you didn't know, i turned up at bala on the monday, did the course with bobinjobs, spent 3 hours on the course having great fun. then drove home, to find 10 miles from bala i blew the engine

now off road literally means off road....

car still in the garage waiting on oil seals etc, all in a hope of getting it back on the road

OMG

I didn't realize that this week was the 4th Anniversary of picking up my 2.0i Sport...
Even more so that it was the FIRST Bala meet that I first met up with FOG, and in doing so BLEW up the engine!!!
Pleased to say that Weaves Engine is still running fine...

And now thinking it would be a GREAT Idea to join you all again at Bala, to celebrate the 4th Anniversary of ownership...

How odd is all that!
